Music, songs, bgm, storyline, cast and that 80's Bangalore ❤, this movie as a whole is a masterpiece💞. It's commendable to make such a wonderful movie in a 1st attempt ✨️. Ilayaraja did this film for free. He mentioned this recently when answering another question about how he helped upcoming directors. Mani was always loyal until KB forced to use ARR.

No, he did not work free, but he did not take advance. He usually does that for many struggling director & producers.. Roja was produced by KB so he has obey what producers have to say. But also they all have ego as whose work was best so they all split. Mani took time to establish his brand but had lot of ppl who produced & backed up his projects so he never struggled financially to ask any work from any one for free .
