@NailsByKatieDutra Жыл бұрын
That’s not really necessary and you’d probably end up with more of a mess. Just work on the application and if you accidentally touch the skin, remove it right away. If it’s cured, use a thin efile bit to remove it to prevent lifting 👌🏻

What's a slip layer? Is it builder?
@mariae9979 Жыл бұрын
If I’m not mistaken. A slip layer is a coat of builder gel you put on the whole nail bed or nail bed with tip. You do this step first. Then apply your builder gel bead and the slip layer will help guide it through. I mean you still have to work it down the nail but it helps tremendously to help it flow.

@@NailsByKatieDutra I tried your tip from the video again last night and it came out a lot better it's just I can only do 2 layers before having to cure it and do it again. The product I use is Aliver 5 in one builder gel, I think I just need practice I have wider and slightly flatter nail beds than yours. The other down side is it doesn't last long and starts coming up even when I filed, used a primer/dehydrater and base coast. All different combinations so I'll have to find a decent base and maybe top coat I believe. 😩 But thank you so much for trying to be helpful the video definitely was! 💜🤗

by 2 layers do you mean 2 nails at a time? because I only do one a time 😄 you won't be able to do all the nails at once when using a self-leveling gel, otherwise you will definitely have cuticle flooding. I work back and forth doing one nail at a time. 😄

A builder gel is any gel that you can use to “build” up structure on a nail. A rubber base is a flexible base gel. This is definitely not a rubber base, because it’s a harder material, less flexible, and you can build an apex.
