When that times come you should get yourself a South African boyfriend not Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mozambique, Malawian guy who relocated in South Africa then say you dating a local, bear in mind we have more than 10 million African immigrants both documented and undocumented in our country in every part of our shores. Be warned majority of Nigerians in South Africa are kingpins of drug dealing and scamming where as Zimbabweans mem are running the business of raping, killing, housebreaking, mugging, car highjacking etc

Pretoria was for many months struggling with public services, all the municipal workers under the union were on strike, this affected a lot of services including water, waste removal and street cleaning etc. The strike only ended end of November, when workers agreed to get back to work although their demands were not met.

Good to learn that at the South African border you were treated well. In actual fact, Kenyans are respected in most of the African countries which in itself says a lot about Kenya and Kenyans as a people. As a Kenyan living in the UK, I really appreciate what you guys are doing -touring Africa through road. You are simply announcing that Kenyans are a contented lot who can visit a new country and leave after the visit without breaching the host's immigration rules and I believe that is why Kenyan have been allowed to visit SA visa free. Thanks for the church bit, it was so nice to hear the good old hymns.

In Afrikaans language, the letter "F" is written as "V". So Voortrekker is actually Foortreker. Voor = forward, trek = long distance move. White Dutch left Cape Colony because they were protesting against British rule. The term "Voortrekker" emanate from that movement.

This experience stirred fond memories of the breathtaking beauty that our continent holds. Pretoria, in particular, is truly amazing, and the view from the Voortrekker Monument is nothing short of spectacular. I'd confidently add that place to my bucket list. Eagerly anticipating more videos from your South Africa trip*

Your trip has been quite inspiring and I have followed it in your videos. You're generally doing a good job getting us to want to see what you've seen; you made me crave for Botswana so much! However, you'll do better if you could do some prior reading on the destinations before you get there, both to validate your narrative and grant you authority. You didn't do well on the Voortrekkers or Boer Trekkers as they're known - at one point I almost got the impression that you thought Afrikaaners were Africans! Overall, it has been a great journey and count on my being there to the end. Happy New Year, Trekkers!

Eldoret town in Kenya was also founded by part of the Voortrekker who went to east Africa. Ndururumo High school in Nyahururu was started as Jan Von Riebeck Schöle and used the Transvaal education cariculum. The De Klerk family ran the Reformed Church in East Africa. There is a place in Johannesburg with very Kenyan street names, which tell the story of the land owners in East Africa.

I will read more about this history...it's quite interesting to learn that some settlers who settled in SA also settled in Kenya. This is because usually SA is bullied by Kenyans on social media and they make it seem as if it's the only country which was colonised, hence the development...despite the work done by the current government in terms of development.

@@TheMandela21 interesting to learn about this history. I will definitely read more about it...SA is always made to feel bad about the fact that we are the youngest to get democracy. As if the current government is not doing anything's Ng progressive not that I am praising ANC government but they are trying. But other Africans such as Kenyans, Nigerians and Zimbabweans always want to make such feel as if it's Europeans who developed SA.
@ToxxicMafia
@ToxxicMafia 7 ай бұрын
@tho88315 you ate looking at it the wrong way, if ANC was doing a good job then your experience would have been the experience of majority of our young people. A lot of what is good about our country is a result of the African Europeans that continue to develop our country. Nowadays majority of our middle class stay in residential estates, i am yet to find an estate that was developed by our people. All the good schools and hospitals are as a result of white people. Everything that the ANC inherited continues to be run down. This is not to say that our people cannot run things, but unfortunately those of us who are very competent just tend not to care about public service or politics.

South Africa is a leading economy in Africa hence the rand domination to most african currencies, it has the best infrastructure including transportation and roads hence the toll fees are higher, but that is predominantly due exchange rate between the rand and African currencies. But if you compare against the US dollar the rand is very weak making travelling S.A by overseas very affordable.

That toll gate is the last one when you count them from Mpumalamga to Botswana. So their prices keep increasing from Mpumalanga to North West. As you travel in the opposite direction from Botswana towards Pretoria then their prices decreases. Unfortunatley you started the free way from Botswana which technically the last toll gate on the N4 from Mpumalanga Province to Botswana is located. To avoid the toll roads, you should have opted to go to Kimberly in the Northen Cape Province and drove down to the Western Cape Province from there. I was looking forward to see you as you pass my home town Rustenburg,the town you passed before you crossed the second cheap toll gate.
