So I did the same trip at total 400 usd tops . Took modern coast one way for about 2250 kes. I really did not mind the 20 hour bus drive , last year I did an overland trip from Kenya to SA for 21 days . I got to Dar at about 11 pm . Paid. Usd 20 dollars for 2 nights accommodation. Took Ferry to Zanzibar paid about USD 240 for 4 nights accommodation for 2 people but that’s coz we were staying at an hostel and also the tourism tax . Could you possibly do a vlog on things to do in Dar had an amazing time there but mainly just going out and partying

Rhe overland trips must have been fun! Wanna do that in January. And yes...that tourism tax really does kick up the price. Do the vlog for sure! I also just partied on my one night in Dar 😅

You definitely have to do the overland one . It’s surreal . Just be prepared for a looot of hustle. Immigration can just mess you up . Just have an open mind and if you need tips just let me know

Cynthia Kinyanjui Depends on which part of SA . In Joburg , I stayed at an Airbnb which was amazing . It was in the Suburb and close to a mall. Food is pretty inexpensive in SA so I eat out most of the time . I did Bungeed off the Orlando Tower which was about 5k . Also went to Nelson Mandela Square at Sandton . I didn’t send much only entry fees to attractions as I had someone driving me . Plus entry fee to major attractions is affordable . Cape Town was my favorite. One way flight was about 5k . Stayed at a hostel which provide breakfast . I took a five day sight seeing pass which meant I had access to basically everything for free. With the pass I only had to sort my meals . I used City Sightseeing company .they had the hop on hop off buses and had various roots meaning in my week in Cape Town I was always on the move . The pass also come with a free tour of the city plus also free wine tour and tasting

ok simple calculations 2300 kshs by bus....400 lunch, 200 snacks...20 hrs bus trip then u arrive basic budget guest house is 20k tshs thats 1000 kshs includes breakfast...uber to the ferry is 500kshs,, ferry as kenyan will cost u 50k tshs thats 2500...now total....6900 my dear take precision airlines from jkia early flight is cheap 5 am flight cost 6100 kshs u will be in daressalam by 7am or 6.30 am to zanzibar..

Well, If one can get a flight at those rates, sure! Prices however fluctuate. It was going to cost at least Ksh 18,000 to get a flight from Nairobi to Dar and almost double that to Zanzibar at the time of my booking, hence the decision to take the long road there and see the country (then complain about the long bus ride afterwards. Lol) Whichever way you look at it, if one has the time, road is still the cheapest way to get to Znz from Nbi :-)

Shorter trip sgr to Mombasa overnight then 10hr drive morning drive Mombasa to Dar via Tanga overnight Dar then ferry

Yes, your way would totally work too. I find it rather hectic leaving the sgr station to go into msa to catch the next bus with that crazy morning traffic...would rather stay put in one bus then complain about the long journey afterwads 😆😆😅

Yes! Shot at Olepangi Farm and they had the loveliest living room. The books on the shelf are from all over the world...loved it!

Taking a ferry from likoni to diani is 5 mints.but taking a boat from dar to znz is 1 hour 30minutes.crossing over to zanzibar territories u will deal with the znz immigration its like u r stepping into another country if you are a foreighner.zanzibar has its own govermnet,constitution,president and cabinet of ministers.Does diani have its own serekali like us wazanzibari.???people will not just come and go as they please in our little paradise we have to know everyone because we live as a community we are friendly people everyone knows everyone and we depend on tourism alot.i hope now u understand y.do come again in the future

there isna short cut,i payed 1200..didnt get the injection but got the card and the whole ordeal lasted 1 hour.with that card i coul take my flight same night and flew to Addis. you cant enter Ethiopia 2ithout that yellow card.
