Naish Matador LT S27 / SUPboarder wing review

If you're into winging in bumps and riding all size of swells, a Naish Matador should be on the list of wings to check out. Naish are now on the 3rd version of the Naish Matador, and the wing has come a long way since the first windowed S26 version. We have been lucky enough to have used the S26 Matador, the S26 Matador LT and this the new S27 Matador LT.
The new LT has still got the lightness and the power of the previous LT which so many of you loved, but with more control and improved handles the wing will allow riders to enjoy the wing even more.

Many happy hours on my 3M Matador S25, despite its small handles. Picked up a 4M S26 a few weeks ago and it works well though these S27 handles looks like 3rd time's the charm. Agree on the coiled leash, it actually has me second guessing whether there must be a better designed wave riding wing if they persist with such an awful - and critical - part of the overall product, especially when there are any number of better alternatives. But maybe I'm missing something about the value of coiled leashes?!

As he mentions there are fans of the coiled leashes, I am one of them. When oriented properly, which is the majority of the time, the leashes are very short and stay away from critical structures like my neck. North makes a nice bungee leash that is much better in my opinion than the straight, non-elastic surfboard style leashes, but even that is significantly longer at rest than the Naish coiled leash.

S24? got reviewed back around 2020, thin leading edge, not rigid enough. I learned on it's replacement, the S25. I'm heavy and even in a high wind area, the 5.3 didn't have enough power to get my 110kg going in anything less than about 25 knots learning. I've tried the S26, much more power but the centre of effort moves around a lot. I'm sure people get used to it but much nicer to have a stable centre of effort. Never had any issues with the S25 handles but for NZ climate and the thick windows, folding could crack them in our winter. I'm curious on your comment that this one is a little better balanced between front and back. Do you mean during gusts?
