Her name reflects her as a whole so well. Just like a radiating, glowing star, bringing smiles to wherever she goes. I love how carefree and energetic she is, and I really hope she is doing well right now, there's so many girls out there like her whose voices aren't heard. The fact that all those people wanted to impose those restrictions on her is so absurd. She's (well, was, but you get the point) thirteen, a literal child. Let her be childish and have fun, she is everything I want to be and so much more. Najmia, I hope you're still the bright star you were all these years ago.

I know the guys in this video might come off as oppressive but that’s what the yemeni culture teaches them. Why are you trying to portray a lie? Probably you did go through it but millions? I don’t think so. Women are more depressed in the west then they are in the Middle East. In America the word bit*h and woman are synonymous. Out of 420 million Arabs in the world I would say not even 10000 would have the same thought as you. Compare that to women elsewhere and compare they’re mental health with our woman. We treat our women like queens. Your experience doesn’t reflect the experience of a chunk of this worlds population

If you go to Yemen, you will see many examples like her. Girls who are just being kids, and being told what to do/wear by the neighbors and they just don't care. Because they are just kids, and their families don't mind them being that way. They know it's just a phase, and they're just being kids. By the age of 14-15, they when they mature, they naturally start to cover up and get shy. Boys and girls.

Old Sanaa, Mashallah, was clean, light and comfortable 😢😢😢 The most beautiful days. As for the girl, I saw a clip of her. She is very old, 30 years old and married. But I did not like the words of the woman when she said she lives her life and there is nothing wrong with it if she is not modest and wears the hijab or the niqab. Above all, we are Muslims, and these are the orders of God Almighty and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Peace be upon him, we Yemenis are known for our adherence to our religion and its commands, other than customs and traditions

The reason our society criticized her was not because of her courage and behavior, but rather because of the hijab, not just because it is tradition, but because this is what our religion commands, that a girl is not just an ecstasy and a view that men enjoy, but rather she is a female who appreciates herself and is greater than that. 😩🇾🇪

The girl is strong and has good intentions. The problem with most of Yemeni society is that they accept the commands and teachings of religion through tradition and not that they are God’s commands and that they are the best choice for our lives, in addition to the wrong view of women and their role in life. God Almighty created male and female for the same reason, which is (populating the earth and reviving it). Of course, there are limits and advantages to each of them. I hope that security and peace will prevail in Yemen and awareness will spread among the people

As I know Sanaa now is the most city in Yemen that doesn't restrict women. Plus why do they exaggerate, come on, there are so many women in Yemen with professions, doctors, lawyers, and more why turn a blind eye to what you can do just because you want to live like the West. I am not being personal here am just saying in general, sometimes we try to look for extreme freedom that later we come back crawling cause it did us no good, the truth that is denied. Words from a woman from Yemen.

She has a family who understands that she's still young and just being herself. She isn't the only kid living like that in Yemen. By the age of 14-15 boys and girls start to change and shy away. I want to speak to my Yemeni people if I could. Yes, the brothers in the neighborhood are right about men being protectors and above women, but women also have unique rights over men: they must be taking care of, fed and clothed and listened to, especially mothers. The boy saying how women are "deficient" got me angry. A'isha, the mother of the believers and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)'s last wife, was one of the greatest scholars of hadith, and relayed the most significant traditions to the companions. Najmia here is full of spirit, there is nothing wrong with that, but she is most probably ignorant on Islamic teachings. Unfortunately, my Country Yemen is plagued with social classism, racism, ignorance and the vast majority of it is cultural more than religious.

We estimate that including the flight, the money to bribe local officers when needed, and other needed expenses, will alltogether be around 3500 USD. The poor girlie abandoned her dream of ever becoming a translator, because of the war there are no tourists in Sanaa, as she was hoping to show them places that nobody knows about in her native city, like she said with all the innocence of childhood. Probably sooner than later he father will marry her off to some abusive old jerk. This is how things work in that part of the world. Unfortunately, Najmiya was not a girl who was interested in her studies. Her interest was focused on playing and wandering in the streets, and she behaved like a boy. If she had been interested and diligent, her father would not have opposed her completing her studies. Many veiled girls completed their studies, achieved their dreams, and became useful to society. The veil was never a reason for a woman to be late and not to obtain a degree. Whatever she dreams of, she only has to be diligent and concerned. Hijab is not the problem, but rather it is a protection for the woman and a preservation of her from harm.

The video looks beautiful from a one side. But there are demonic agendas spitted out from the reporter’s mouth. Unfortunately she is lowering the importance of the Hadith and sharing her “Quranic” philosophy. May Allah guide her. Najmia is a great girl, as long she didn’t reach her puberty she has the right to play around in the streets with cautios, but “Islamicly” when a girl reach the age of puberty she must cover her hair no doubt. That doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have fun rather she should differentiate between her childhood and maturity. Many differences between the two. May Allah guide us all.
