I have a 32oz glow-in-the-dark Nalgene with a red OTF lid. It is one of my favorite water bottles.

ahmadaamer6 agreed! I soon learned that I can’t have enough of them... they’re the best bottles I’ve ever used. Once I got my first Nalgene, I never looked back! Thanks for watching, and for the comment!

I bought the glow in the dark 32 oz bottle. My Nalgene has seen some rough days and only has a few scratches here and there. I have used this one as a lantern as well, the glow will dim fairly quick though. This bottle never leaks, unless I forget to screw the cap on, whoops!

I have purchased a red mini Nalgene bottle a couple of years ago, and its still as good as new, I bring it to school etc., everyday! I have seen the clips with all the bottles being hit by cars, dropped off roofs, I did not try that, but I'm preety sure it will survive, I bought the mini one and its amazing! My absolute favorite thing about it is that it is BPA free and dishwasher safe. I have also tried putting ice or hot water in it and nothing happened, its a great bottle! Some of my other friends also have them, and it never broke :) Great video, as always! Keep up the awesome work, mate!

Card Prick thank you! I experienced the durability of my own, after completing a hike and getting on the highway... right as I reached 60, I heard the sound of it rolling off the roof, and I watched helplessly in the rear view mirror, as it tumbled wildly down the road. When I retrieved it, there were only a few scuffs on the bottle, and a few nicks on the cap! I've since purchased several others, including the 16oz for the car!

@@TrailnameAce wow, that's very durable! I've had other brands of water bottles, some even higher in price, and none were as durable as the Nalgene!

Card Prick me too! I’ve had some that I thought were great, but they all broke after dropping, or weren’t dishwasher safe. And my Nalgene has kept me cozy and warm in my sleeping bag on several cold nights!
@dangaming5799
@dangaming5799 5 жыл бұрын
@@TrailnameAce exactly, I will also try the sleeping bag method when I will go hiking or camping this summer, that's such a great idea, and its just pure genius: keep your sleeping bag warm and have a drink in the morning! I'm definetly going to try that!

Great video ! Subbed. Maybe it because im very picky but i disagree with reviews that say this bottle too heavy. It works ! Thanks for the honest review !
@TrailnameAce
@TrailnameAce 3 жыл бұрын
I can see why some may say it’s heavy, if they’re through-hikers, where grams count. I’m a section hiker, where it’s more a matter of ounces or fractions of a pound, so I don’t notice its weight, and I’ve never really thought about it.

Great bottle. I have one. I started working for Nalge in 1985 to1999. I make PVC tubing for Nalgene and VWR in the past coming up to 39 years. Plus PVC dairy farm tubing I've been making for years at my job. Very proud to have worked for Nalge. Now I'm very proud to do work for Nalge since 1985. Awesome water bottles from a awesome company.

Cracked the lid on mine once when I dropped it 155 feet from up a tree. Also cracked one of the tall 48oz ones.
@TrailnameAce
@TrailnameAce 6 жыл бұрын
Really?? You cracked a Nalgene? The lid I can understand, since Nalgene does sell replacement lids. But you cracked a Nalgene bottle? What happened?
@KaizenSteelDrums
@KaizenSteelDrums 6 жыл бұрын
My 48oz Nalgene cracked because I left it full on the cabin floor/storage shed when it was -35f degrees a few winters ago in Oregon. I had them freeze solid and not break before though but you'd never let that happen on a hike. Always a good idea to have a backup container. I'm looking at the Cnoc Outdoors Vecto 2L Water Container to use with a sawyer water filter sp129 for my next adventure and of course my 2 nalgene bottles.

levi record extreme freezing makes sense! A full bottle in those conditions would certainly put it at risk of splitting once the ice started to expand. Thanks for watching, and for sharing the information!

When you search for the word review in the dictionary, it should link to this video. Too many YT gear videos simply read the spec section of a product, without talking about their own experiences with it.

Does anyone know when they quit making them out of Lexan?

I did a little research, and it appears that they switched from Lexan in 2009, to the BPA-free Tritan.

Thank you! Man I had like 15 of the lexan ones and all of them got taken now I only have the bpa free ones which aren’t half as tough but I guess they’re markedly safer so probably for the best. Thanks for finding that out for us man!

Hot water freezes faster than cold water
@TrailnameAce
@TrailnameAce 5 жыл бұрын
SocialdDem true, but when you place the hot Nalgene inside you’re sleeping bag before you crawl in, all of that heat gets trapped. My Nalgene is always still giving off warmth come morning!
@SocialDem86
@SocialDem86 5 жыл бұрын
Trailname Ace At 3:56 you claim that putting warm water in the nalgene will delay it’s freezing while on the trail. That is a false statement.
@TrailnameAce
@TrailnameAce 5 жыл бұрын
SocialdDem I theory, it may be false, but in fact, the water never froze when we put hot water in our bottles before starting our hike. When we started with cold, ice formed in the bottles as we hiked.
