best fight of 2022

I saw it live at the footprint center, everyone was getting up for bathroom breaks during that fight, Carla shouldn't be champ, rose should be champ still there's no way anyone should be able to win a title with a performance like that, i get that it takes two to tango but I feel when a title fight like that happens the champ should stay champ cause the contender should be the one that brings the fight since it's the champs job to defend, they both fought a boring fight though

It was the most overrated fight of the night, Esparza became champion just for having the best attitude, while in each round they went around the ring without hitting each other

Rose was more worried about Carla's grappling than Weili's. Carla will lay on you for 5 rounds with no remorse, but we haven't really seen that with Weili even when she out grapples people.

She was afraid of Carla stopping her again and tried to avoid her grappling like the plague.

Is that she has like a trauma with Carla because of their first fight while she has beaten Zhang before so she felt more confidence.

@@danielbattle7620They’re in different weight classes now so unless Weili moves up this is wishful thinking. Im not sure about the outcome now, but I would give the edge to Weili if they did face off again. Weili’s ground game has gotten much better and her kickboxing is top notch right now.

Good eye. I think it might have been a liver shot, hence the reaction. And this was while Rose attempted the same lunging left hook she used against Joanna at UFC 217, except Joanna stood still and attempted to parry what she thought was a jab, while Weili moved off the center line -- completely eliminating the guessing game -- and used the superior angle to counter Rose. Good stuff.

It's on KZfaq. Might be on thus page now. Actually had Colby 4and 5. Usman 1and 2. Round 3 was very close imo. First fight Colby was definitely winning but Usman got the win by stoppage. Wonder who Colby will fight next after beating Masvidal easily. Colby vs Dustin would be great but at 170. Dustin, who is a bad ass, loves 2 cut 30-40 lbs 2 make 155. He dud fight Conor at 170. It should be interesting.

I’ve watched it so many times trying to score it for Rose no clue how they gave her the decision or how they gave her 4 rounds. Zhang’s a better fighter after the losses so I’m not too upset now. 😊

@@Satsuionly Rose out struck and out wrestled Weili in the 2nd round. I don't get how you can watch that 2nd round and see Rose on top of Weili and think that Weili won that round. Rose won the striking and Rose won the wrestling what else do you want?

The only people who think Weili won the rematch are those who mistakenly believe Weili rocked Rose in the second round. Rewatch the fight. That punch went under Rose's armpit and she slipped on the slippery canvas, like many other fighters did that night. Rose wasn't hurt at all. Actual strikes were 22-12 Rose in that round. It wasn't even close. Rose clearly won rounds 2, 4 and 5, so 48-47 Rose is the correct decision. And that's being generous and giving the first round to Weili.

Fighters are usually nicknamed by team mates and coaches at their gyms, often early in their careers. Picking your own nickname would be considered arrogant and unbecoming, Dave. "Why should I like..."? Get over yourself. Like the UFC is about you...

Great advice. I'm sure she and her coaches never thought of that, and she was probably trying to do the opposite. Hit without being hit? Who would have guessed?
