So long, London is absolutely phenomenal. I love how the song gradually builds and gets more and more anxious. I think this is one of her best songs she has ever released. This showcases more or her writing skills rather than vocals. Sonically, this song is like angels coming down from the heavens.

I really don’t understand why everyone just feels the need to compare every artist with each other (especially Taylor Swift). Like all of this bitchin’ and moanin’ is actually got really old. Like not every artist is obligated to have shocking vocals. (which Taylor actually has as you can hear in so many live performances) She is a great singer, songwriter, performer and she really is talented. And I think her being the most famous artist rn just proves my point. This unnecessary comparison of artists (especially female artists) is sooo boring. Like get a new topic.

Folklore is a showcase of her talent. Incredible song writing, vocals are on point. Story telling is there. Most artists can’t write their own songs. Writing is a talent, people need to start treating it like so

Dancing With Our Hands Tied is probably her best recorded vocal performance. I think she could do more vocals like this if she really wanted to but since her marketability is based heavily on her songwriting, I think she deliberately makes her music where she puts more attention on the lyrics than the vocals so she doesn’t really go hard vocally too often

Probably Don't blame me in terms of vocals In terms of writing there's My tears ricochet, Cardigan, Ivy and more that show she's a prodigy at songwriting

If you want lyrical masterpiece, listen to All Too Well (10 Minute Version). It's about an ex but it's her best work, objectively. Also, she does not only write about her exes and I'm really tired of hearing this because she's written about her mom's cancer, childhood cancer, haters, depression, anxiety, death, suicide, her grandmother, her grandfather's wartime experiences, her brother, her childhood, her journey to fame, revenge, betrayal, karma, public scrutiny, governmental and social fallacies, LGBTQIA+ rights, feminism, etc. and it's really degrading of people to make her entire discography about exes. A lot of her most famous hits like Love Story, You Belong With Me, Shake It Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood, Look What You Made Me Do, You Need To Calm Down, The Man, Anti-Hero, Karma, etc. aren't about her exes. Anyways, like I said, if you really want to know, her lyrical masterpiece is All Too Well (10 Minute Version) and it has a lot of vocal excellence, and it would blow anyone away if they could set aside their stigma of it being about an ex. But since you can't, I suppose just listen to Don't Blame Me, that has the best vocals and has good lyrics too. And for an album, 1989 is objectively the best album but again, the problem of exes so Lover would be the best for you I guess.

Lyrically I think Ivy, but basically the whole of folklore and evermore. Vocals wise, the Cornelia street live performance, proves that she can sing live, and well.

vocal talent doesn't equal all around talent, Taylor is a writer first & vocalist second. But her vocals cant be compared to certain artists bc of her range, she is a lower alto, her strong suits come in low tone notes which many dont recognize as "vocal talent" if youre looking just to hear Taylors vocals i suggest "dont blame me live from the Eras Tour" and personally, if you dont like the album or song just dont listen! theres many of us whose those songs connect deeply with us, everyone has different tastes, you dont HAVE to like Taylor Swift to respect what she does, just look at her tour numbers, show length and performances and that will give you all the respect you need, you dont have to "understand" the work to respect the artist.

Not sure why people keeping using names such as Mariah, Whitney etc when pointing out her vocal ability. Taylor is an alto range. Which is a lower and rare range for a woman. Compare her voice to similar ranges. It's ridiculous to compare her to high range vocalists.

I can honestly name multiple singers that have vocals as good as Mariah Carey and Beyonce, and there are even more non-famous ones. Personally I dont find it that impressive. But I cannot name 1 other artist that writes like Taylor. Maybe Bob Dylan ? But he still has a different style.

taylor isnt a vocalist, shes a writer. and you clearly dont like what she writes about (her love life) so you obviously wont like her writing skills. but if youre looking for her vocal abilities i would recommend the archer, dont blame me, new years day, all too well (10 minute or the OG doesnt matter which one), slut, enchanted, epiphany, seven, my tears ricochet, willow, marjorie, gold rush, false god, how did it end, down bad, whos afraid of little old me, and the smallest man who ever lived. also, when you listen to her older songs (debut-1989) make sure they are taylors version so that way you are listening to her new voice. if you were to listen to OG speak now and then speak now taylors version, you'll hear a clear vocal difference so basing her talents off of when she was 19 would be unfair considering shes 34 now

i think reputation album would be a good recommendation to showcase her vocal talent, she maybe not a vocalist like mariah but she has good voice, and i really love her note in the "dancing with our hands tied" song off the reputation album

If you want pure vocals, I would look at Don't Blame Me and I did something bad. Taylor's gift is her song writing and emotion she is able to portray in her voice as she sings. I get kind of sick of the comparisons to other artists. She's no Ariana. She's no Mariah Carrey. She's Taylor Swift, and brings something different to the table just like Ariana and Mariah do.

TS is not an amazing singer. She is an amazing lyricist. You may not like Taylor Swift's music but that doesn't make it objectively bad. You are entitled to your opinion & if people are attacking you because of that, it says more about them than you. I don't understand why folks can't agree to disagree about a difference of opinion.
