I grow calendula every year but didn't know that it grew everywhere. I never knew about it until I discovered Doc Jones. I am a student of the Botanical school but have not continued in a couple of years. Been caring for a sick husband. He's getting better so we should jump back in and see what's happening with the school. Thanks Jenni for these little videos. I love them. Melody

I had several guesses and each would change as the clues progressed. You really did throw curveballs !! I didn’t choose Calendula because it doesn’t grow in the wild in my area, is not prolific and I even have trouble growing it here in South Carolina. The few that grew from seed didn’t even reseed when I left them dry on the stalk. But thank you for sharing such interesting information !

As you gave clues my mind was churning. First thought was oregano, then yarrow, then Holy Basil, but you have it away with the sun reference and I settled on calendula. Never had one as a volunteer, probably because I harvest flower heads often. I plant it, along with marigold between plants in the garden for pest control. I also infused it in oil for my skin salves. I also make it into a tea as the base for my castile foaming soap and body wash.
