Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #313
Exploring the world's oldest desert in Namibia, Africa, in a rented 4x4 with rooftop tent! Over the course of this 2-week overland adventure my friend and I visit a massive ghost town, abandoned ruins, ancient petroglyphs and the world's tallest sand dunes -- just like Nevada, except for the baboons, elephants, zebras and giraffes :-p

Hey Wonder Hussy, Your videos are always fun, this one is extraordinary. You have a knack for seeing things, and describing things a little differently than other people. I mean that in every good way. It's that singular eye and train of thought that keeps your videos fun and interesting. That's a big part of why I subscribed to your channel. Keep on keeping on and we'll keep on watchin'

Yikes. Stuff there kills for sport! Sarah, that was your best Video EVER!!! It was a great oppourtunity to learn how to drive a standard Transmission! For your info, Lions can leap 7' just playing around! Baboons can rip your face off. That was a trip of a lifetime, and hopefully with a Forever Friend like most of your fans. I can't imagine you didn't check out that square building with one door visible where you camped. What was that all about? You had all the right clothes/gear and I expect even though you didn't mention seeing Lions, that they saw you. That baby seal could have bitten your arm off! NO to the 'melon?'. Did you shine a spotlight around in the dark? You gotta work on your tan! I would have been sleeping Inside the vehicle! Thanks for the greatest video.

A friend used to sell those roof top tents in the 1950's. He passed away a couple of years ago but from talking to him, they were a little heavy and in a strong gust a bit shaky. They mounted them on the car tops like a '55 caddy by clipping on the gutter. But in the 60's the cars started getting smaller and lighter and some cars like the '63 corvair had a folding rear seat that converted the car in to a camping vehicle. Lol. I had one and it would have about as big as an older two man.. or in my ex girlfriends case one woman.. tent. Also folks stopped going tent camping as much... Part because the hotels and small road side cabins started popping in the 50's and 60's a lot more with kichens, full size beds and electricity. No more having to pack up a bulky tent and other outdoor stuff. Then they were heavy, and made the cars top heavy. When a large semi passed by the drivers were complaining about Lossing control of the cars and they just faded away. Now we have new material, but we have more motels and hotels... Not many of the little cabins left, but now tents are lighter and easier to store and load and unload these days. Anyway that is all I can remember right of the top of my head.

Now I'm REALLY envious of you. I have wanted to go to several countries in Africa since I was in my early 20's. I've wanted to go with almost empty suitcases so I could fill them with the colorful kitenge and khanga fabrics, and even have some clothing made there for myself out of those fabrics. I wear wrap skirts of the thin East African khanga cloth every summer, with nothing underneath. Girl I need to school you! Desert lover that you are, you would LOVE dressing like I do in summer, when you are forced to put clothes on. 19:01 - Wow, that's amazing. That jackal is so similar in appearance to an American coyote!
