That press conference video is so funny because the guy brought up a situation about an album that was three years old at the time. It had nothing to do with the persona album which was what they were promoting in the video. Just another example of Korean media trying to get away with being disrespectful and making unnecessary comments😭 Joon is amazing!

It was later revealed that the reporter who asked them that question was sent by another company (it was YG Entertainment as far as I remember) to disrupt them (?) or catch them off guard??? Idk The press conference was not even about the Wings album but for the MOTS Persona album. He just asked that question out of nowhere but thankfully the members handled it well.

That interviewer who brought the plagiarism issue works with another company so he asked this question on purpose so that somehow make a mistake in response and media got the chance to twist their words but fortunately boys handled the situation very well

Because it's barely 6am and I'm awake... and this is the first video that caught my attention- To explain the whole 'Plagiarism' thing : During the MOTS: Persona public press conference, which is what's being showed. Various media outlets were invited, from news journalists for the broadcasting stations, and online news stations. To magazine publications in SK, and Foreign news, and other media outlets. The 'journalist' who asked the question about plagiarism is a writer/journalist for YG's own magazine publication- YG Mag. The reason he asked that question was because about a month before this event, a French Artist came out saying he was notified by 'someone' that his work had been used in BTS B.S.T(Blood Sweat and Tears MV) which is from the wings album, as well as the cover of the wings Album resembling another piece of his art. However, he found no similarities in the album cover, but there were similarities in a few shots of the Blood Sweat and Tears MV. Not enough to be plagiarism but it was similar enough that credit should have been given to the artist. Which, all the French guy wanted was that mention. However because of those who dislike BTS for simply being themselves, they tried to make the issue bigger than it was. To be safe, and to also protect the Artist, HYBE(formerly BigHit Entertainment) set up a legal meeting and had it settled, but they were still settling it when this press conference took place. A few weeks later it was released that the French artist didn't press charged, was never going to because it wasn't plagiarism, but he did want credit for his art being an inspiration to the few shots in the MV. So the artist was given his credits as due, and because the company felt bad about not doing a better job of finding the artist to credit him, he also got royalties. Everything was settled, the YG Mag journalist knew what they were doing. It wasn't Plagiarism though, however it was a lack of credit given due to mistakes being made.(The mistake being the employees who are supposed to find out the artists of the original art works they use or get inspired by enough that it shows) I'm surprised I could explain it this well considering how early it is lol. Anyway, this is a long post, sorry about that.

He shut that question down politely, professsionally and quickly, leaving no room for the reporter/journalist to interject and ask any other questions regarding the subject. However, the photographer personally later shared that he considered BTS's work a tribute, not plagiarism. Big Hit Entertainment had responded by stating that the photos and clips from BTS’s album were not similar to Faucon’s works, and that because the parts that Faucon's agency had claimed were similar were COMMONLY USED IN FILMING, they were not subject to any legal protection. The reporter who asked the rude question is allegedly a biased reporter aligned with BTS's agency's rival company. Rumor has it that the reporter was sent there to put dirt on BTS' name. The boys were caught off guard and were a little annoyed because it was neither the place not time to bring up such a topic and that the issue is between Big Hit and the photographer's agency.

When bts really started getting big, right around the Wings album, other agencies would literally plant "reporters" in the question and answer sessions to say bullcrap like that. Trying to discredit or throw them off in questioning. Even back then they were afraid of BTS and Big hit getting more famous. Guess they were right to be though, HYBE recently acquired 14.5 % of a competitor Kpop Agency.

That person that asked that inappropriate question was a journalist that worked for sm entertainment, a competitor company. That was just one instance of the constant attempts to bring BigHit and BTS down. Very cut throat over there. BigHit offices were even broken into and it was all caught on BH cctv. Biiig court case that resulted in that persons dismissal and fines. BTS were making people nervous and jealous. You should react to BTS hardships, it’s disgusting. They have alway been above board, transparent and honest, and the South Korean music industry didn’t know how to deal with it. We as ARMY are very proud to say BTS and BigHit are very, and entirely independent of that industry and do not owe or are beholden to anyone, including the media there, (which is owned crookedly by SM entertainment) and have no strings that could be pulled.
