One of my new favorites on the NASKA circuit, Averi Presley of Team Paul Mitchell, competing in black belt creative forms and weapons at the Diamond Nationals World Karate Championships in Minneapolis, MN.

the problem none of these "xma/cma open tournament" people have never had any formal training in any authentic Budo,Bujutsu . They just make their stuff up from a fantasy based on a pale facsimile or pantomime of what they falsely believe what the weapon is meant to be in real combat situations. They have absolutely no concept or skills in self-defense- close quarter hand to hand Combat. It is just gymnastics/acrobatics , baton twirling and juggling. How very sad.

You commenting this is very sad. Little do you know many of these xma pros actually started out with traditional and "formal training." But later on found xma and began to study that style because it's fun, cool, and exciting. Someone like you who only sees martial arts as a use for "combat situations." don't understand anything
