This song WAS NOT sang by Mbilia Bel...by then she was heavily expectant and unable to sing..the song was sung by one Nana Akumu De Kudu,ex TPOK Jazz female vocalist and now with offshoot Odemba OK Jazz..the song credits were given to Mbilia Bel for whatever reason...the rhythm guitar as from minute 2.42 is what kills me..anyone tell me was it Michelino Mavatiku Visi?..its his style

+Eric Kimandi wow....i just realize its not actually Mbilia's voice, thanks. I guess its in keeping with Lingala tradition of giving credit to the composer that hid this. I remember most of Simmaro, Wuta Mayi and Papa Noel's compositions were sang by band vocalists who never featured on acknowledgemnts.....so it had be your ability to tell the voices. So different from western songs where the composer is acknowledged ans the writer and also the singer.

yes its no mbilia but overall i give credit to these brave amazons who marked our childhood reminding us our fathers thoses days,really thoses people enjoys life post independence when everything was smooth unless us but bravo these kind of music keeps us going us we re also prent now....wish our kids will remember our music too

Those asking for translation...unless we get someone from the Lomongo Dialect to translate it to Lingala, then we can translate to English. The song is done in Lomongo dialect. Secondly, the voice is Baniel Mbambo's and not Mbilia's or Nana Akumu's ...but credit went to Mbilia.

Juddy More Sorry,correction: It is NAKEI NAIROBI and not NAPIKA NAIROBI. I don't think she ever sung that song SHAURI YAKO.SHAURI YAKO was by a group ORCH.SENTIMA which changed the name to FESTIVAL DU ZAIRE. Later on ORCH.SUPER MAZEMBE re-sung it.

The voice is not Mbilia's at all. Yes, Nana Akumu. But the guitar riffs sound so Afrisa...Could it that she was backed by Tabu's band?

Mais cela n'est pas la belle Mbilia. C'est Faya ca qui chante. Je sais bien que c'est pas facile a distinguer la voix de Mbilia de celle de Faya. mais pas mal, quand j'ecoute la belle et pure voix d'afrique, moi j'ecoute...et je m'amuse bien!

Eh oui! C'est seulement aujourd'hui que je tombe par hasard sur cette chanson qui a marqué mon enfance. Je peux confirmer que c'est BANIEL BOSAMBO qui a interprété cette chanson. Elle a évolué quelques temps chez Tabu Ley avant de finalement rejoindre Franco

The singer is Baniel Bosambo and not Mbilia Bell as widely perceived.

in her early music career she was based in Nairobi where her fans nicknamed her Akumu
