To be fair, I thought the same as her until next episode. It was kinda hard to tell cause the show abruptly went into a flashback without any actual indicator besides some characters being alive, then abruptly cuts back to the present with no indicator of the timing of when the events take place.

@@wonderofu5431 To be fair, I'm too busy looking at the animation and reading the subtitles to register the time slapped on the screen. Still could use a better indicator to discern when the flashback begins and ends.

@@wonderofu5431 Normal people aren't going to pay attention to a small time in the corner. If they want to track time they can narrate it or do the whole black screen with time like before so its clear time hasn't changed. Randomly showing only serves to make it feel like time has passed not that the time is important.

Not so fun fact: Nanami's VA teared up delivering his final lines. He knew how much the fans loved Nanami. iirc before delivering his final lines he was just sitting there staring at the floor realizing his time as Nanami's VA was about to end. And after recording he just silently left the building

Yuji vs Mahito is the perfect example of 'nothing left to lose.' Yuji doesn't give a crap about anything at this point besides trying to make it all worth it. He needs to give meaning to all that death and loss that happened in the last few hours, otherwise he'll completely shatter. That desperation fuels him far more than any previous motivation ever has, which is why he's able to thrash Mahito.

@@motivatedman9730 the author has stated that they don't like to draw eyes, so they're usually trying to avoid doing so or drawing 1 whenever possible. Ironic, since the main antagonist of the series has 4 eyes.

I saw the clip of Nanami's VA saying his last line. It was so sad to watch. You could see he got attached to the character he voiced, and it was hard for him to deliver the last line. I even heard he cried afterward.

I knew this episode was going to be rough for some. After their first fight, Nanami figured not finishing off Mahito was going to be a major problem later. And he was right. Mahito learned Domain Expansion in a very short amount of time and has now taken him out right in front of Yuji. Because of Sukuna not liking his soul being touched, Mahito can't use a lot of his more powerful moves on Yuji. He's fighting with a handicap. So he uses psychological warfare on Yuji by hurting the people closest to him. Unlike Jogo, he isn't interested in Sukuna. He even tried to give Yuji the kiss of death in this episode. Anything and everything to physically and emotionally damage him. Just when you think this arc is slowing down, it keeps ramping back up. And now, Mahito has his gaze set on Nobara.

I laughed during this scene. And then remembered all the times I've laughed at sad and death scenes in anime. To realize its my couping l mechanism. But he went out like a g. He finished the mahito's transfigured humans and gave our mc something to fight for. He a real one😭👍🌟

Mahito is such a good villian in general, like yeah mf is a piece of shit, but an spectacular one XD And is such a natural foil to Yuji, and whats better he is one of those villians who actually learns and grow from every L he gets and thats what makes him pretty scary, and maaaaan the VA (Nobunaga Shimazaki) is doing a fucking S tier job with this character! The moment he scream back a Yuji (Whos VA Junya Enoki, is also goated) as he is making fun of him, its great.....Still deeply hate the mf, but i cant deny that as a character he is doing his job excelently XD

Fun fact: Nanami’s fight against all of those transfigured humans is almost entirely anime original. In the manga, it’s one panel where he cuts through them all like it’s nothing. I like both versions but I slightly prefer the manga version. In the Manga, it shows that he’s still an elite sorcerer even though he’s this close to dying, and in the anime, it’s a glorious last stand for him to go out on. I wouldn’t blame anyone for preferring either one. I think the scene with Mahito after is handled way better in the manga though.

The Nanami parts were mostly pain, mans been dead even before the anime started. Well on a small positive note Nobara calls Mahito a lil bitch in the English dub.
