i was a wreck just watching that whole situation, i think his mum said some truths to support her son, felt overwhelmed and needed to step away, but oh boy that was so intense and shocking and heart wrenching.... Ace my boy needs a hug and support like I WANNA HUG HIM 3x05 was actually a superb episode... so many emotional rollercoasters in one sitting but such a powerful episode, with so many powerful and heart wrenching moments, and then the humour/ comedic relief is always chefs kiss, it was surprisingly outstanding and blew me away more than i thought it would

He is unbelievable. He keeps a secret. He kicks out his son for speaking the truth. He doubts how much is his son an adult for still living at home. The only job he has is a dishwasher. The rich of his friends lived in a van until she could prove her bloodline. Nancy lives at home. Nick lived in the garage he worked at. How he can be too obtuse to see how his son wouldn't be able to live on his own. Realistically, all of them had realistic home living situations. George lived with a bunch of sisters and a single mom. Where would his son be able to live? Two jobs won't be enough, unless one is programming.

One thing I like about this scene is that is shows how easy it is for people who speak exclusively (or nearly exclusively) in sign or other methods than verbally can get cut out of a conversation if the people they are talking with turn to face away from them but also stop signing. I don’t agree with Ace’s dad in this situation but I think this scene played out very realistically, while obviously his dad was already upset and things were escalating, it wasn’t until Ace turned away from his dad towards his mom and kind of lowered his arms that his dad really blew up and yelled.

This was so hard to watch! His Das lost it for no reason Ace is always trying to be supportive and just good. Also why didn’t his mom hug him after that ! She shouldn’t have gone after his dad He needed a hug from his mom !

I don’t understand how this is Ace’s fault. You’re the one who kept your son a secret from you’re wife.

This isn't Ace's fault his dad should have came forward about his other son a long time ago

I did find his Dad an interesting character but after this I lost a lot of respect for him. He’s the one who kept a secret and yet it’s Aces fault. Ace just spoke the truth. Kicking him out I guess was him doing a “fuck you”. As someone else said all of them basically live with family. Can’t believe Aces Mom didn’t defend him. My Mom would never let anyone, even my own Dad, talk to me like that. Yeah, he acts shady but yet he still has never done anything wrong. Sarcasm.
