Nancy’s reaction to every man that shows interest in her is just “no you aren’t Ned so you’re ugly to me” and I love for it, couple goals right there

I feel like Sargent Ramsey was trying to impersonate Patrick Warburton. All I can hear is Kronk being all: "Riiiighht the kidnapping. The kidnapping for Maya. The kidnapping chosen specifically to take Maya; Maya's kidnapping.....That kidnapping?" Nancy: Yes that kidnapping! Although there is a Kuzco inspired poster in the lobby so maybe that was intentional?

Just to be clear, in real life, you should _never_ wait 24 hours before reporting someone missing! It's not "standard procedure" and this myth has caused a lot of people to be lost forever.

Seeing Gab play all the Nancy Drew games from my childhood curled up with a hot cup of coffee is the kind of chill vibe I need in my life. Thanks for being the best, Gab! I love that you do so much more than just play the latest and greatest!

The cardboard cutout of Brady in the lobby gets moderately defaced (a mustache/goatee, an arm tattoo, and maybe some weird eyebrows? I forget lol) at some point during the game. Now who do we know who hangs out in the lobby and doesn't particularly like Brady... ;) Some of the posters for things are parodies, like "Brigadain" (Brigadoon) and "Nebraska!" (Oklahoma!). I think if you play the Amazing Monty card game again right after you first win, he'll glitch out and be even more creepy than usual. Seven-year-old me did not like that. If you try to get the gear thing on the balcony without using the ick stick (which should definitely become a Twitch emote!), Nancy tumbles off the edge and dies. It's more amusing than it should be, hehe. I also take great joy in making Nancy struggle with the trapdoor backstage ("URGH!") and poke the gum on the seat ("Ick!") repeatedly whenever I play. The phone numbers for Nancy's friends stay the same throughout the games; Bess's (4468) spells out HINT, George's (2583) spells CLUE, and Ned's (4357) spells HELP. Fun details! The funeral wreath says, "Planning a funeral is such a dreadful pain… wouldn’t you rather just stop the demolition?" Yikes, Simone. Sherman Trout, the Library of Congress guy, is voiced by the same guy who does Ned's voice (and Charlie in Message in a Haunted Mansion). I'd never realized that before the Twitch chat wondered about it and I looked it up! The package is supposed to get to you on the third day, but I guess it isn't actually necessary to beat the game. The slide Sherman sends proves that Houdini did own 50% of the theater and gave his half to a "struggling young artist" but doesn't name the woman. The key machine thing puts letters on the keys because you're "supposed" to use your initials and the initials of your crush to make it the ~key to your heart~ and give it to them. Very cute! And that puzzle is a lot easier now that we can take a picture of the screen.. When I first played this as a kid, it was a struggle to try to either remember or draw what that key looks like! The papers that you're too stressed to read at the very end are proof that Louisa Falcone is the one Houdini wanted to give his half of the theater to. One is the ownership transfer paperwork with signatures from Houdini and Thompson (but not Ms. Falcone yet) and the other is a letter Thompson wrote. He was worried that he'd lose money if people found out Houdini wasn't going to be the other co-owner anymore so he was holding off on making it happen. It said Houdini was on the road at the time of the letter and it's possible that was when Houdini died, so Thompson realized he could just ignore it (and I guess people forgot about Houdini owning part of the theater in the first place). During the end-of-case letter, one of the magazine covers says, "This just in: mysterious threats signed with a scarlet hand!" as a teaser for the next game. I also love the "Brady Armstrong miracle hair-growth diet" part of that cover, hehe. Anyway, it was awesome to watch you play this! I'm glad you had a fun time!

While watching this I got the call that my grandmother had passed away. My gram would always tell me stories that as a child she read the Nancy Drew and Hardy boys books constantly and we laughed at the irony that I was in love with the Nancy Drew video games (via Gabs playthroughs). I think I'll play a ND game this week...think of her as work through the grief and be grateful for the woman that encouraged me to always be curious.

This was by far one of the most intensive and stressful Nancy Drew games I've seen yet. The last 10 minutes with that music had me stressed (especially with those keys), lol. This one was a lot of fun, though! I learned way more magic tricks than I ever thought I would. One of my favorites Nancy drews I've seen yet.

Oh man, that police reaction of "eh, give it 24 hours" when the first 24 hours are the most important ones in a kidnapping case, and most kidnappees don't survive the first 3...

I love how she reacts to all the fun catch-phrases in these games. To this day, my sister and I still use the "fight the power" sign off for each other. Too bad she'll likely never play game 2: Stay Tuned for Danger. Both because you actually have to figure out the criminal, but more importantly, for the little old lady who always says, "Don't take any wooden nickels, young lady"

Houdini actually died because a fan wanted to test how strong he was by punching him. The punch (is thought to have) ruptured his appendix since he already had appendicitis lol. He also refused to go to the hospital as he had an upcoming show

This was the first Nancy Drew game I ever played, all the way back in 2004. I finished the game during my 10th birthday slumber party surrounded by classmates and friends anxiously glued to the screen. 😂 I've played every single ND game as they came out over the years, but since the Final Scene was my first, it hits me in the nostalgia extra hard. 🥺❤🔍🥰

It's so strange watching this as someone who lives in the St Louis area because there are so many little details that they got right about the area! You can tell the developers did some research.

Wow, the Magic stuff in this game is Legit. All the techniques in that book at around 2:18 are real techniques and even those illustrations are ones found in magician technique books. The cage trick is something called Metamorphosis that was indeed made famous by Houdini. Some of the older posters on the walls are real ones too. They did good in the research for this game.

As a 36 y.o man, I probably shouldn't get as excited as I do when I see Gabs has done a new Nancy Drew game.

Being from St. Louis, watching this playthrough gave me much joy. This game did well with capturing the continuity of St. Louis. Gab playing it was a bonus.

The funniest thing is that if someone tells the police about a kidnapping, and there was an actual threatening phone call saying it *was* a kidnapping they're kind of duty-bound to investigate it as a kidnapping. That cop is literally breaking the law by refusing to investigate. :-D Edit: Also, all the people at the theater going "Oh, someone got kidnapped, ho-hum. What's for lunch?" is hilarious. Either people literally get kidnapped every day in their social circle, or they're all the bad guys. XD Edit edit: As of about 2:38:40...yeah, this cop needs to go to prison for incompetence. He makes the Keystone Cops look clever and skilled. XD

The police are super incompetent. They know this Falcone character is out and about and has caused a lot of trouble at the theater, yet they find it hard to believe that Nancy's friend was kidnapped to keep the place open.

God, I remember this game when I was a kid. It was the only Nancy Drew game we had and I was TERRIFIED of it. I remember that if you tried grabbing the gear over the railing too many times without using the gum + wand then Nancy falls over the edge and you get a game over. For some reason, that scene absolutely terrified me and I couldn't play it. I was also irrationally creeped out by the cutout of Brady in the foyer for some reason.

1:22:27 They include that kind of information so that, if you come across a woman chained up in a basement whose face is all oily or all dry, you know you can safely ignore her. Imagine the stress of having to wonder; that would probably cause some sleepless nights 😬

This game was very unsettling and the music and plot really creeped me out which is not something I expected from a Nancy drew game. That was straight up some serial killer chasing you with a knife soundtrack at the end there. I think having the kidnapper talk in complete denial of the demolition at the end was creepy. And then literally trapping the player knowing that death is imminent. I didn’t expect intensional murder in a Nancy drew game. Just wow…

I have two very important things to say. 1. Watching these Nancy Drew play throughs makes my heart so happy… I’m all cuddled up with my doggo and a glass of wine, vibing with the [amazing] soundtrack of this game and Gab’s commentary. Bless. 2. ICK!!!

Just in case anyone somehow needs to know this, the whole 'you must wait 24 hours before investigating a missing person' thing is a trope of movies and games only, not real life. If you ever have real reason to suspect someone is missing or in danger, contact authorities RIGHT AWAY. Do not wait 24 hours EVER! That trope is not true at all.

I love that you are playing these. I think you'll really like Crystal Skull from this series as well, it was one of my favorites along with Blackmore Manor.

Yay! Final Scene was one of my TOP favorites growing up. From things I've heard they had less time to make this game which is why there is less detailed puzzles and things like that which I do find makes it kind of boring. HOWEVER I think this has one of the best starts to a game and most nerve wracking, on edge endings.

i agree, i think this had to be the most sensational, action-packed and intense nancy drew game! was fun to watch!! but also the end sequence like this dude literally kidnapped a person, put them in some kind of oven, didn't transfer them out of the theater before the demolition to put her somewhere safe just in case, literally was ready to take himself and two other ppl he actively trapped there with him... ehm, the fact that it was a kind kidnapping process (?) is nice but tbh in the end shouldn't it still be attempted manslaughter with maya at least? also his complete logic was like i kidnap to stall time and stop the demolition, but he made sure nancy was never believed in, bc he just got rid of the evidence and till the end he didn't just refuse to tell where she was but was actively trying to stop nancy from finding her or even just saying to the demolition team that indeed someone is there which was his plan wasn't it? he wanted his crimes to not come out? sounds like attempted murder with nancy to me. okay lol overthinking the nancy drew game but still :D

Getting the notifications for this series makes me light up immediately. It brings me waves of comfy nostalgia, PLUS I get to see someone as enthusiastic and genuine as Gab play them for the first time. It's such a win-win!

I am so excited to watch Gab play through all of the games. These games are the games of my childhood and I don't have time to play them anymore because I'm so busy with schoolwork but now I can watch her play them and do schoolwork at the same time.

I have so many fond memories of playing these games, and reading the Nancy Drew Books (that my other fave to me and that she read as a child) when I was in earth high school. I always struggled a little with the puzzles in the games so I’d give up (and well, I was like 11 lmao) it’s so nice to watch these videos, it gives me a sense of nostalgic comfort that allows me to curl up and take a break for myself. I am looking forward to more videos!

Omg, I saw the title and was like I think I played that one? As SOON as the opening started I was smacked in the face with nostalgia.

When day 2 starts, you’re directly in front of the wreath, and you are supposed to walk up to it and read the note. And the papers at the end showed that Houdini gave his half of the theater to Louisa Falcons. It’s kinda important lol. They give you like 15 minutes to read everything in reality so it’s not as rushed as it seems.

I know it's late to comment on this, but find the ace of spades card game is called the Three card Monte. It's done through sleight of hand. It's also how cups and balls work. A word of advice, you might be attracted to try the game to get money(gamble actually)but don't as it is also used by cons and you will always lose. Also the name of the dummy in the game is called Monte, a play on the name of the trick.

easy to figure out :) nobody had connection to those things except him can't believe she was all the way down there and when she was stuck in that spot it seemed liked it was a technology thing that Joseph only had access too.
