She hasn't set up the village for a very good reason...our house burned to the ground 4/30/18. We have rebuilt and moved in 2 weeks short of exactly 3 years since the fire (4/16/21). The plan is set up the village better than ever in 2022!

@@donbouc I have to tell you this. Right after I wrote my comment to you, I found out you had that terrifying fire. I read about it online. My heart sank. I knew right there the fire destroyed the villages as well as everything else you, and Nancy probably owned. I also live in Colorado in the Springs area, and I knew you two were in Castle Rock when the local TV station featured Nancy's village. I am glad you two are safe, and back on your feet. I will be looking forward to seeing the 2022 village. I am also building my first Dicken's Village. It's not only fun, it's very addicting. Take care.

@@jurassicporkchop4162 Luckily, a majority of the houses and many accessories were below the back deck which had a concrete floor. As a result, they had water damage, but no fire damage. Basically all houses survived, but all electrical stuff and landscape pieces, etc will have to replaced.

When I found out about the fire, I told my wife why don't we help out the best we can by buying your wife some village pieces so she can get back in the Christmas village game again. Yeah, some of those very early pieces are hard to find. I have many pieces, but not those two. Tell Nancy, my hat is off two her. I know how much work goes into this. I have huge Dept 56 Halloween and Dickens displays, some years Dickens doesn't make it out since I've just taken down Halloween. Cheers.
