The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Lee & Nancy created MAGIC together! ....It was THEIR own 'sound' & style; The alluring, mysterious Blonde (with some kind of 'past'), & the Older Man, with a distant, hypnotic, draw to him...that the Blonde ONLY knows, about.... Thier Songs told STORIES, and we had to decipher their meanings.... Nancy is VERY lucky to have Lee's production style at the time...It set her apart from others, and made her MORE, than "Frank's Girl".....

@@ThaloniusPFunk They actually made 3. The second one was in about 1972 with a top ten UK hit. The third I think was like 2003. The first is the classic though - a genre of its' own - did they call it 'psychedelic country rock'?. The songs 'Sundown Sundown' along with 'Some Velvet Morning' and 'Summer Wine' will always be favourites of mine although I didn't hear them until at least 10 years after the album first came out.

Ed went to his familiar "youngster" and "very young" intro. In fact, Nancy was nearly 28 and Hazelwood would be 39 later that year. Sullivan must have figured that anyone he didn't know in vaudeville was a newbie😮

Her voice was charming but limited, and she was lovely to look at. I daresay even with the Sinatra name, Nancy would have had a much-limited career without Lee Hazelwood. They definitely had a chemistry that worked.

@@1970groupie Well, yes, the make-up is a bit too stagey but do keep in mind that was the 'look' of the late late 60's and then in the 70's the 'natural look' took over for a while - I understand that some might see the make-up as a bit overdone.

@@JohnnyGNVWell she looked mighty fine in close ups 1968 Ed Show ' This Girls In Love...' and wonderful in Bang Bang, in 66 I think. But each to their own. We all agree though that Nancy is indeed a Babe!
