"Nandi Chol" is a dance piece that focuses solely on the expression of movement and rhythm, without any accompanying lyrics. It involves complex footwork and hand gestures, and is dedicated to Nandi, the sacred bull who is associated with Lord Shiva and is often depicted outside of Shiva temples. Throughout this segment of the performance, the dancers invoke Nandi's name and use various chollukettu or vocal expressions to enhance the overall experience of pure sound.
Performed by Shruti Kulkarni, Saanvi Kondoju and Divya Rajan as part of IndianRaga Fellowship Program. Performed at Sri Lakshmi Temple, Ashland, MA
