Just some info for non-Italians: -Polenta taragna is a type of polenta, they obviously mixed it with Ragnarok because Vikings are cool -Giorgio Mastrota is a famous TV host who mostly sells stuff. Nanowar also dedicated a whole song to him some years ago, thanks to which they did a few things together (for example, he sang his own song live with them). He's not a singer at all anyway -At the beginning, when they talk about polenta, it's a parody of Linea Verde, a TV program about typical food around Italy. Here it is called Valtellinea, which is a pun mixing on Linea Verde and Valtellina, a valley in Northern Italy where polenta taragna is a traditional dish. -Valtellina is also mentioned in the chorus as Valhaltellina, an obvious reference to Valhalla -Volcano of Trepalle: Trepalle is a town on the Alps and it's also at the highest altitude in al Europe. Its name is kinda funny in Italian, as it literally means ThreeBalls -South Tyrol is a region in Northern Italy, while Sondrio is a city in Lombardy -When they say "the abuse might cause the pellagra disease" it's actually true. On the other hand, the part about viagra it's not, sorry about that -Como Drake: in Italian it's "Drago di Como", which is a pun on Lago di Como (Como Lake) -When Giorgio Mastrota says "Mr. President? Mr. President?" to Gandalf, it's a reference to an iconic Italian TV moment in which politician Giulio Andreotti had an ischemia and could not answer the host's question, who unsuccessfully tried to call him a few times before realizing what was happening -Mid-Garda Lake: a pun on Lake Garda and Midgard -Cedrata Tassoni is a cedar beverage which used to be vary famous, which recently became even more famous thanks to vaporwave and memes. Yeah, seriously. -When Giorgio Mastrota says "F#ck it's very good", he says it in Brescia (another city in Lombardy) dialect -The falsetto parts are a reference to a famous Italian pop song, "Su Di Noi" by Pupo. "Su di noi nemmeno una nuvola" (above us not even a cloud) here became "su di lei ci metto la provola" (on her I put Provola cheese) Hope I didn't forget anything 😀 by Vlakorados Nyaaa

The lyrics for this Song were written by the Nanowar fans during a Covid lockdown live streaming event, then the guys wrote the music and the Song was born. Then to shoot the video they contacted Valtellina Regional Authority and they enthusiastically supported the project. So now the video has "Consorzio della Valtellina" (Valtellina development Authority) as an official supporter. That'll be like getting the Upper Potomac River Authority supporting next Steel Panther video for their "Frozen in the Crossing" single. I suppose these things can happen more easily in Italy since here the Authorities don't lack of sense of humour ...

I see lots of people explaining the details but I think no one has explained the basic premise of the video. The whole thing with all the nordic iconography is that polenta is a traditionally northern Italian dish, to the point that the "racial slur" (almost always used jokingly) southern italians have for northern italians is "polentone" (big polenta). They take it to the extreme by going way _too far north_ with the iconography which makes it funny as hell. Also the text mostly _isn't_ nonsensical which is the best part. Eating polenta and nothing else really was a cause of large Pellagra epidemics way back in the 1800s and early 1900s when northern Italy was poor, it really has a ton of cholesterol since it's usually mixed with a ton of cheese and butter, etc. The bit where you went wide eyed due to the change of pace in the music is a parody of a classic italian song (Pupo - Su di noi). "Su di noi" means "above us", and they turned it into "su di lei" which means above her (the polenta). And yes, the fact Giorgio Mastrota is actually in it is amazing. It's the second most epic thing to come out of Nanowar - the first being when Mastrota surprise-appeared on stage with them during a performance of... "Giorgio Mastrota", of course. The dude is a legend.

Polenta Taragna is a kind of polenta that use a mixture of buckwheat and corn meal , popular in northern italy. Watching people around the word reacting to song about Mastrota, Polenta Taragna and Cedrata Tassoni, is borderline weird. Orobic means from Bergamo xD Also, the whole "Presidente, Presidente?!" thing was a nod to one of those iconic italian tv moments, where an almost 90 years old Giulio Andreotti, a famous italian politician and statesman, briefly passed out during live broadcast, sitting perfectly still for a few moment before the show host started to panick.

The various cheeses they mentioned are typical of these places, and you can put them in the Polenta. 4 This is my opinion, but I believe they have chosen the Viking topic in this song because Lombardia get it's name from the Lombards, a scandinavian tribe which arrived there in 600 a.D. and then expanded in Italy.
