Two fun fact: First - "Falegn-amen" is the union between two words: falegname and the classic "Amen". When Mike The Hammer sing "Just like Jesus, i'm a Carpenter" Carpenter is the right english translation of Falegname. Second - Trading Places here in Italy is broadcasting every Christmas night on TV. Greetings and thanks for the laughs ❤️

I love the Pippi Longstocking wig on the guitarist. Fun fact, they were on a IKEA tour, playing in stores. Without telling IKEA about it. 😁 They played until they got thrown out.

Best Ikea Commercial ever. Just random bits of info :) Yggdrasil is the Tree of Life in Northern Mythology, also most of the Words you (most likely don't understand) are Furnitures you can buy in IKEA like bedframes etc. The Horse meatballs, were a Scandal in Sweden were Meatballs were made from Horses (nothing wrong with that) but it was labeled as another kind of meat. Systembolaget is the only place in Sweden where you legally can buy alcohol over 3.5%.

Their songs "Norwegian reggaeton" and "Barbie MILF princess of the twilight" are both cool but their humour is based on many in-jokes, one needs to be familiar with black metal lore for the first one and Rhapsody of Fire for the second. Still, "And then I noticed that she was a Gargoyle" and "Uranus" are great and funny too, and no particular previous knowledge is needed.

A few side notes here. Systembolaget is a state-owned chain of stores here in Sweden and the only place where you can buy alcoholic drinks. Both Amon Amarth (melodic death metal with a heavy inspiration from the Viking era) and Hammerfall (heavy/power metal) are Swedish metal bands. The guy with the green armor is Thomas Winkler (called Angus McFife from when he was in the band Gloryhammer during this time) He is now in his own band called Angus McSIX

@music2seeconcertphotograph4573 жыл бұрын
Now you know why I was so much suggesting it for your Christmas countdown 🎄 🤘
@deeteenw3 жыл бұрын
The even deeper joke is that it IS actually a christmas song. The midwinter rituals go waaay back before christianity was a even a random thought in the head of some mideastern prophet. Odin is not a random choice here. So basically the christian church captured the midwinter festivities from the "heathens" and put their own rituals on top, then it got stolen by Coca Cola and now Nanowar of Steel stole it right back :-D

"Nothing rhymes with Nicaragua". How about "messhugah"? Which is not only a band, but the Yiddish word for crazy...which fits this marvelous video. I love connections :).
@zethrasgorgoth31453 жыл бұрын
By the way.... "Falegname" means "Carpenter" in italian, so "falegnamen" is basically mixing "Falegname" and "Amen" words. Useless insight, but even still...

I suggest you another Italian metal band called Frozen Crown, they play power epic metal. They were founded in 2018 and they have released 2 albums by now with a third one on the way in a few days. If you want check out "Neverending", "Forever" or "I am the tyrant". All 3 songs have official videos :) They are a fantastic band with an excellent female vocalist called Giada :)

parody specifically about Swedish chrismas, which is actually mostly pagan/norse with some christian elements. It features some Swedish quirks like Systembolaget and when they ran out of viking themes they spent half the song randomly quoting the IKEA catalog.
@PittDaddy3 жыл бұрын
There are tons of Easter eggs throughout the video. Plays on words, the outfits and beards... I laugh every time I see it. Check out their songs Norwegian Reggaeton, Uranus, And then I noticed She was a Gargoyle, Barbie MILF Princess Of The Twilight... they are all fun. Unfortunately, Nanowar of Steel are having issues making money these days on just You Tube as a comedic metal band. They have been making parody videos of pop songs to show how ridiculous the music industry is. A few weeks ago, they did a video called 10 Hours Of Nanananananana, yes.... 10 hours of them singing Nanananananana. It is quite hilarious.

@stevensauer8539 Жыл бұрын
I'm going back and watching last year's reactions to this amazing song, since not many have reacted to it this year yet. Somehow I'd missed yours until now. How did we get from A to B? Some have suggested that the first part, prior to the Hebrew lyrics, was the Old Testament of Odin, with the plunder, rape, and chopping of heads, while the second part, after Odin whips off the Santa beard, is the New Testament, with a gentle god, no more war just design of furniture. My favorite bit of obscure humor in this is the manual. The futhark runes on the front translate to the name of the famous Viking dragon longship, also pictured on the cover, so that's what you're buying from IKEA when you get that manual. And what tools does it say you need to build it? A standard screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a pencil, a Viking round shield, a double-headed battle axe, and a mug of mead/ale.
