GREAT JOB!!! This is the THIRD video I've watched comparing the two strings and it is the FIRST that actually took the time to PLAY the strings instead of just talking about them. You did a great job, taking the time to compare in different settings in addition to explaining everything. Listing your exact equipment is also such a nice thing. Many, many thanks.

Happy to know that I picked up some of the Nanoweb Elixir strings! Time to go put them on my guitar tomorrow! I like the smooth but bright tone in guitar tones, so I am much more happy to know I chose what is good for my preferences.

I liked the nanoweb because the sound is clearer. I’ve been playing the poly in 10’s on my fender Mexican standard Stratocaster. It’s a 2012. I am missing tones I wanted to hear and didn’t know why and I thought it was my pick ups. Gladly I bought the nano but in 11’s I might have more bite than I thought which could be great

Hey thank you Bernth... I thought it was a great comparison..especially using the 2 different clean signals.. DI and Clean as well as effects. The bright (nano) vs warm (poly) was definitely noticeable. The trouble is with electric guitar players...there are times when you want bright and others when you want warm..which is why there are so many variables to achieve that with, the tone knob, the pickup position (neck will be warmer/bridge brighter) etc. But I think you demo'd the strings well and for me... I will likely go with Polyweb strings...I like the nice warm tones...it can always be made brighter with the tone knob on the guitar, or on the amp. Thanks Bernth...keep on shreddin!!

Nano for me. Thanks, good demo straight to the point. You should do another with same comparisson technique of nano, poly and opti with palmmute+tapping+clean.

Crazy how much you can hear that attack on the nanoweb. Isolated like this, I can't tell if its a good or bad thing. It's the only "premium" string I've ever owned and I really love the feel, but I think I'll try the optiweb next to see for myself.

Everything depends witch guitar you have , you got to balance the sound, gibson or guitars made of mahogany and rosewood neck is naturaly warm so polyweb will be even warmer, strats of Maple neck and alder body is the opposite

How does the feel of Polyweb compare to a flatwound? I've been experimenting with Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats (with unwound 3rd), and like the feel and the tone. Wonder whether Polyweb might be an alternative?

From this comparison I prefer nanoweb. There is some harshness to the polyweb. I also think the nanoweb sounds "warmer"

My local guitar store never has the same brand of strings I put on, one day it'll be super slinky heavy bottoms, the next I'll have to do with nyxl 9's, then another brand and so on and so forth. Current set are addario nyxl 10's. Also haven't quite found my perfect gauge because of the factor mentioned. At least I can do my own setup on my soft tail.

really depends on the gauge and tuning you're in. I've had both and would say that pollys are more slippery so something to note.

Just installed a set of elixir nanowebs and was thoroughly disappointed. The thought of having a set of long lasting strings for a guitar with an FR sounded like a great idea and the reviews had me ramped. However they sound very muddy and distorted. Notes with extended chords have little definition or clarity and make my high-end guitar sound like something I got at a pawn shop. The used and abused set of Ernie Ball's I replaced sounded much better. Of course style of music makes a big difference. If you're looking for a bright punchy tone, growling rhythms and searing leads look elsewhere.

I'm just counting your fingers...and yes...12🤣 My question: I once watched PJ Harvey on BBC TV and her guitarist used a Bowie knife sliding its face up & down the fret. It gave out a weird sound. Have you tried doing this?

Hello Dell! Thanks for the comment, whenever I struggled with this issue the string set was usually too thick/heavy for the tuning I was playing. Do you know which gauge the stock strings have? I never play any sets above 10's for standard tuning, you could maybe even try 9's if it helps you with this guitar - those might cause a bit of intonation troubles here and there but maybe it's the right choice in this case. I always also recommend mixed sets (light top/heavy bottom) if you don't want to loose that thick rhythm guitar sound

Hey, thanks for leaving a comment! Isn't that an acoustic guitar model? I also use Elixir strings for my EP10 and AEG Ibanez models, I recommend the Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb strings for that - I mostly use 11s or 10s :) Hope that helps!

About to try me some optiweb strings just wish they made more gauges . I have a les paul with emg pups and like drop c and d standard tuning and havnt found the gauges I like for that tuning from elixir . Might just get some 7 string sets and throw out the 4th maybe. 11/56 or 11/59 if they got em.

Hello Lyk! Since deciding which type of strings you want to use will have a very big impact on your sound & playing it was also important for me to include all the hard facts! If you want to dig deeper and only let your ears decide I recommend this great tool on the Elixir website called 'Sound Xperience': www.elixirstrings.com/experience
