Variety spent an incredible evening celebrating the centenary of the BBC as well as the 70th anniversary of the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards. Singer, actor, and presenter Amanda Holden hosted a night of celebration, entertainment, and exceptional talent at the London Hilton on Park Lane
An amazing total over £650,000 was raised for Variety Sunshine Coaches, which are specially-adapted, accessible minibuses that cater for SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) schools and other non-profit organisations working with disabled and disadvantaged children and young people. Thanks to the generous donations of our guests, more children will be given opportunities to experience learning outside of the classroom.

The presentation did not mention that Naomi Campbell is recognised world wide, as being one of the most beautiful women in this world, and this is relevant against the fact, that her pursuit for happiness is beyond her own success in beauty, but the happiness of others. She has used her beauty, intelligence and emotional intelligence (power), to further the life of disadvantaged children and people. It is clear to me, as a woman of colour, that her role in the advocation of inclusion and racial justice, must have sometimes disadvantaged her greatly (not everyone wants to call a spade a spade, or hear the reality of a situation which is having detrimental impact), but yet Miss Naomi is not afraid of the impact to herself. Doing the right thing, is what Miss Campbell stands for, and this Super character is why so many people love and cherish her, including our late Baba Nelson Mandela. Thank you Miss Campbell, we appreciate who you are, and what you stand for. You have endured so much as a woman of colour and the totality of your experiences makes you incredible, robust, and someone worth listening to. Thank you for paving the way and successfully navigating an industry that must have been so challenging. You did it for us. You are leading the change, you wish others to experience in this world. Baba Mandela would be proud. Ubuntu Miss Campbell- you are Ubuntu. Thank you.
