Naomi Osaka has such a great personality and is a class act. She is not only a beautiful lady on the outside but on the inside as well. Sports stars are human beings too. Naomi did a great thing by holding on and battling even through the negative emotion. I am sure it was hard to even put one foot in front of the other. This match was a greater achievement for her than people will know. I know I would find any match she plays interesting. Zhang played a great game too.

(Beginning of third set) It is obvious that though Naomi is a great tennis player, she is a greater person. Her coach tries to coax her out of a funk by downplaying Zhang's effort...suggesting that even at her worse, Naomi took the second from Zhang...but Naomi is having none of it. Clinging to the reality of goodness that comes from respecting your opponent despite the "rewards" of winning. Impossible not to love this girl, though it must be hard for family to see her struggle with the dilemma of respecting others while at the same time trying to beat them. (easier for some than others)
@omniexistus3 жыл бұрын
you make no damn sense...a person can respect someone while still trying to beat them...you make her out to be like some sort of emotional fragile wuss...she was just having nerves
@ronwatts58273 жыл бұрын
@@omniexistus wasn't going to bother..... will try: First of all there are many(!) "top" athletes who have little respect for their opponents (depending on the sport...golf vs nfl being an example) and finally (since I'm short on patience)....Many kids in some sports (tennis being one) perhaps because of coaching..parents etc. are constantly told you need to be "tough out there" "your're better than them"..."whip them etc etc. I can't figure this out for you (won't work), but let me guess...you don't have children? If you can see my argument good! I realize it does not mean I am right about Osaka, but the winning is everything philosophy has f...k@#$ up many a promising talent.

She does know Japanese and can understand it. She's just not confident speaking it yet. When the press asks her questions in Japanese after matches , she knows what they're saying but she'll still answer in English.

@@pomerlain8924 yeah, it's like how some Japanese players (who were born in Japan and lived there) come to the big leagues and get asked questions in English. They understand what they're saying but answer in Japanese to get their full point across
