Currently, Inoue is a world-class household name. His popularity doesn't rely on the US market. There are numerous detractors of Inoue are Americans and Filipinos. Unlike Japan, the US does not support and promote the lower weight divisions as much. Consequently, many fighters must travel abroad to earn substantial paychecks. Even Saudi investors are prepared to pay him heavyweight-level purses. After all, no one enters combat sports to compete without compensation.

I wonder what you meant by heavier weight classes is more skill like at what weight? He's already a huge star in Japan and makes a lot of money there he should just stay there instead of coming to America unless they are offering him more money.

I think he meant more of since there are just more boxers at that weight because more people weigh 160 and 140 that they’re being more competition. It shows in a way that there could be more skill since there’s more competition at those weight classes

Im glad to find a youtuber that argues he should be 1 p4p ive had him 1 for the past year and a half but i felt i was biased because pacquiao is my favorite of all time. Inoue is more precise with his punch output though vs the volume pacquiao had .

Let me help you with his name. In basic phonetics, it’s “Nah-oh-yah In-no-ay.” Closest I can get with English phonetics.

Mike Tyson took notice of Naoya Inoue for at least a few years now that puts him over the top as the P4P over Bud and Canelo.

Not many like him because he's not fighting in the US or because he's not in the weight division they want to see him fight in but the guy can box. Why do he need to move up? Why are other guys not moving up? He's good no matter what. He's fighting champions. He's defending his belts. Still kicking ass...

Inoue vs Gervonta Davis at 130 with a rehydration clause.

You are repeating a sentiment that I've talked about with some fellow boxing fans myself and why I feel that Inoue walloped on him so badly, knocking him down 3 times and turning the fight around. I feel like when Inoue got knocked down, he really was contemplating his legacy, and he knew that with that knockdown would come speculation. He knew he was going to have to completely flatten anybody's doubts with the remainder of that fight

Asking INOUE to fight Tank at 135 (4 divisions above) is like asking Tank to fight Canelo. Fair?? How about Tank come down to 122 with rehydration clause? I bet Tank will faint and end up going to the ER at weigh-in. That’s how big of the weight difference.
@Pigeoning
@Pigeoning Ай бұрын
You can't be taken seriously if you seriously entertain the idea of Crawford v Canelo or Inoue vs Tank. It's right up there with Canelo vs Usyk levels of nonsense. This whole weight class thing exists for a reason. Catch weights and rehydration clauses are for cherry pickers and cowards. Let's get boxing back to being realistic.
