The cool thing with alestorm now is that even if they stay in the folk idea and still talk about pirate stuff, they now are like an experimental band, they have lots of different stuffs that they use (Elliot screaming, two keyboards, awesome guitarist and bassist...) so their songs are rly different, you can't judge the band without knowing at least 10other songs I think!

When did elliot join the band. I haven't listened to alestorm in a long time and this came up on my recommended and thought I'd check out what alestorm was up to and noticed a new member as well with a new sound.

Elliots first appearrance was on the "In the Navy" single if I remember correctly, so around 2012-2013. You can tell that he helped improving Alestorm's sound a lot, especially the keyboard work on "Sunset on the Golden Age" made this album stand out for me.

Everything about Alestorm (first heard them way back in the 2000s on Pandora) is just full of awesome & win. I’ve bought so many of their songs & I’m not even sorry. And I absolutely love how they continue to use little people in their videos & share not only the stage, but screen time. I seriously would recommend this band to anyone. I’m even getting my son to tune into them.

Dwarves are part of Norse mythology and Mead is big too. Their pirate metal has more than a few Viking elements. Of course Vikings were pirates as well.

I really dont get all those negative comments, like "Omg, they sold out, they arent Alestorm anymore". Because of metalcore segments, or what? Ok, those aside, this is as much an Alestorm song, as Alestorm song can be. Accordion is there, cheery pirate - like melody is there (even in those 'metalcore' parts, you can hear it if you listen well), lyrics about pirates and drinks are there and last, but not least, midgets are there :D If nothing, "Magnetic North" felt less like an Alestorm song, than this one. Well, at least for me. But in the end, who cares. All that matters are wenches and rum. And keep up the good work. Untill next time \m/. P.S. Also proud to be an extra, for this very video :D Come back to Serbia for a live show, whenever you are able to.

Fans: --> sound is similar to past tracks "Omggggg always the same thing this is shitty i am tired of this" --->sound has some changes "Omgggggg cool song though this change just doesnt make sense and its horrible please stop doing it you guys suck, this guy who has been in the band for some years now doing the screaming bits suddenly sucks ass!" ---->sound completely changes "Omgggggg you guys are such sellouts" Thank god alestorm is a band that is always taking the piss... my only complaint is that they are liars... I am expecting the ham they promised me since the magnetic north video release and still no signs of it :/

old Alestorm is good and so is the newer Alestorm. One thing that I`ve noticed though is that I`m finding more good tracks with more recent Alestorm releases as their skill is getting leveled up , arrrr
