An alternative technique to apply napkins.. Things you will need along side basic cl\y tools: I used fimo pro in white with a pinch of purple * Patterned paper napkins * Crackle paint * Pearl gilding paste * Cord

The idea of the empty nail polish bottle for the liquid clay or the UV resine is so smart! And a lovely project as well.

Thanks, I can't take credit for that though as saw tip on Facebook. Just spreading the word 😉 I use one for liquid clay too, and Kato liquid clay.

Beautiful work, can I just give you a tip for removing all the backing from the napkin....if you use a small piece of sellotape and just gently stick it to the backing, it will take off the first layer and repeat for next layer, works every time. I saw someone else do this on KZfaq, so I'm not claiming it as my idea. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful. I had just copied some beautiful butterfly pics and was going to put them onto white Fimo but they are copied onto regular copy paper. Do you think that might work or is the paper a little too thick? I cannot believe that you had just done this, I had awakened early this morning with this in mind to make the Fimo look like porcelain. WOW! Girl are you psychic? Beautiful project.
@theclaysanctuary34642 жыл бұрын
🙂 I've tried it with ink jet paper, regular doesn't work to well apparently. Maybe try it and see how it works? I am going to try with ink jet at some point, when I can. Thanks Michael 🙂

I love this technique. I can never find cool napkins like this! It really looks like a watercolor. I’m wondering if you could hit the clay with the heat gun so the paper won’t wrinkle. Sort of flash cure the liquid clay.
@theclaysanctuary34642 жыл бұрын
Maybe? I hadn't thought of that. They all flattened out though so maybe the oven does that? Ebay does an amazing amount of eye-catching napkins, worth a look. Thanks Oonagh 🙂
@danaparsonsliquidcosmosart26692 жыл бұрын
The original painting the napkins are based off were a watercolour that's why.. you could probably do this with your own artwork printed on normal paper if you had a decent printer
