A requested video on an eco friendly alternative to using the toxic cling/Saran wrap or plastic bags. So easier a method and a much more friendly user technique
If this video inspires you to use this method, there are a few other videos on my channel using this same technique.
Please like and subscribe for more DIY.
And thankyou for watching. 🌷

Here in the U.S. this is called freezer paper and usually comes in white. It's found in the section with plastic wrap, wax paper and aluminum foil. The shiny side has a very thin coating of plastic, so a lot less plastic than cling wrap or plastic wrap. I love using it. It can also be used to temporarily adhere a pattern piece to fabric or make a paper stencil that can be temporarily adhered to nearly anything that can have an iron applied to it (or a repositionable adhesive applied to the shiny side for things we wouldn't iron) A good idea is to still have plenty of ventilation since we are still melting plastic, even though we're using half as much.

Yes I often wondered about freezer paper. We don't have it here, not that I've seen it. I chose not to use anything plastic as breathing it in is toxic. So hence using the eco friendly Kraft paper. I've even used material with it and works tremendously. The stenciling though got my interest. Do you have or know where I can view a video of this. Kind crafty regards. Adsila ❣️

I fairly sure there is a layer of plastic on that craft paper. Cuz it's very shiny. Or some adhesive, (but that would be labeled as such). Paper does not stick with only heat. I bet if you ask the manufacturer they will tell you what's the shiny stuff.

You don't need glue. Just lay the napkin or a cut out part of it onto the candle and iron it. The napkin melts into the candle. There are tutorials here on YT. It's a lot of fun and turns out beautiful!

Does the napkin ever come loose from the kraft paper?
@HAPPYJUNKIN62
@HAPPYJUNKIN62 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I've never experienced that before, I just made sure the iron is hot enough to weld the Kraft backing onto the napkin top layer only. I have still some left after 5 years and they are still intact. I've even used it on materials too. With great results. If the melding between the napkin and Kraft paper isn't properly melded, I just continue to go over with the hot iron, making sure all seams are secured as well. I hope that helps. Have you tried this? And please comment your results. 🌷

I found this a bit confusing- kraft paper is not shiny on one side, so I assume it's freezer paper? - the shine must be wax/glue coating which the heat from the iron activates - so it's not much different to using cling-wrap really - just simpler to use. Couldn't find the screenshot of the product details to check it out further to see if its available here in the UK. Thanks anyway.
