Dapwell was fine, Heems was hilarious, only Kool AD really sent off any negative vibe in my opinion. As for their music, I really think people took it waaay too seriously, fans and critics alike. They were just dudes with great flows, weird personas and occasionally insightful lyrics. The only reason so many people saw them as more than a rap trio/duo was because they made so many pop culture references that anyone could try to interpret their incoherence.

Agree on the beats, some of the best I've ever heard, from Shut Up Dude to Relax. However I don't think they attract pretentious people, but rather they bring the pretention out in people somehow, kinda like how Lil B manages to get kids to think he's a lyricist just by spouting a bunch of names they know on a lazy repetitive flow.
