The head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, spent three days in North Korea amid reports of ammunition shipments from the DPRK to Russia and oil shipments from Russia to the DPRK in violation of international sanctions. The visit took place on March 25-27. The parties discussed "business issues in Pyongyang to further strengthen cooperation in response to the intrigues of hostile forces." At the same time, the DPRK's Minister of Foreign Economic Affairs Yun Jong Ho went to Moscow for talks. The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that Naryshkin discussed "deepening cooperation in Pyongyang in the face of attempts to increase the pressure of external forces," and the talks were held "in a friendly atmosphere."
