We're joined by Fran & Rich from @FloatingOurBoat as we leave our mooring at Sutton Weaver to the end of the Weaver Navigation and through Marsh Lock on to the Manchester Ship Canal. We navigate through Eastham Lock, the biggest on the canal before beginning our crossing of the notoriously dangerous tidal Mersey Estuary to Brunswick Dock and the Port of Liverpool.

Another absolute winner. So much information and amazing filming . Silver fox cuts a beautiful slice through the water and looks truly majestic. I also have to say that your Mersey pilot has really enjoyed his life on the water as, by my rough estimates, he must be approaching 80 years of age. Getting nearer every week to hitting watch button bang on four pm. Love you guys and your content.

What a stunning day you had for the journey! Couldn't have been more perfect and easy, but having Stewart there with all of his knowledge and experience allowed you to relax and truly enjoy the experience. My sister and brother-in-law live in the States now, but for several years they lived in a flat in an historic warehouse on Albert Dock that had been renovated into condos! Don't quote me on it, but I believe it actually faced out on the River Mercey. They used to have huge boat flotillas on special holidays that they could watch from their living room out their windows! It was an amazing place to live, and they thoroughly enjoyed the exciting city of Liverpool whilst they lived there.

Liverpool is where the ship from Dublin took us when we emigrated to Canada. I was seven. Years later, well four years, my parents had gone out for the evening and I stayed up watching Ferry Cross the Mersey. Mum and Dad arrived home before the movie ended and they sent me off to bed without seeing the end. I just made the connection with The Mersey and Liverpool, 55 years later. Never too late to learn something. Thanks guys. ❤️

Guys, best narrowboat channel on youtube. Arguably one of the best channels period. Camera work rocks, clearly research time is extensive, and all the other vagaries of living on a moving vessel. So reason for my comment is I saw the rental scooters? you were both using and I wanted to recommend the Magnum bikes Imax S1 scooter. I use it as an alternative to a disability scooter (lost my left leg) and I use it when I boat around in Maine and need to leave the boat to get groceries or libations ;). It does 30 kph easily and will do that for 10 miles at least. They foldup too. I have over 1000 km's on mine and it's still going strong. I cant help but think this could work wonders when you lads on are remote or somewhat remote moorings. Whoa is this long a comment allowed? Keep it coming lads you guys are great.

Fantastic video boys absolutely loved seeing Liverpool again . I think taking a pilot was a great idea, it looked a bit tricky at times. I was amazed at the width of the Mersey. Have a happy time in Liverpool, trying to join but as usual having problems remembering pass word,.

I think it's pretty normal to get anxious in situations that you can't control. Many years back when I was on holiday with my mom, we planned on going on a flight with a small airplane on one of those tourist flights, and I got so anxious I didn't want to go. But since I also didn't want to admit it, I convinced my mom to have a car free vacation (other than getting there and back obviously) and since that was the only thing we would have needed the car for we ended up not doing it. In hindsight I kinda regret not doing it as that is an opportunity that you don't have that often. I also think that this anxiety due to not being in control is why some people make horrible car passengers when they are used to driving the car themselves. Loved the vlog as always, especially seeing those big ships from your perspective and how big the river looked.

OMG so I always sneak on and watch right away and then watch with my husband later. Well it’s been out 2.5 hours now and he just said “I wanna watch the boys!! Did you already watch?” It just makes our day and I love watching twice…. Once with quiet and then once with lots of comments and questions from my hubby. Yep, you’re the boys to us - own it!

Was great seeing the footage on the ship canal and Mersey. I work on the Mersey ferry and spend my work life on the river. I’ve also done hundreds of trips up the canal to salford. Amazing place. Going under the birdcage is unreal. Float on lads. Gary

We loved this one as we spent some time in Liverpool during our travels in 2018. We stayed near the Docks (Albert Docks area) and walked all around the buildings and statues. We also took a “Ferry ‘cross the Mersey”, visited the Maritime Museum, the ‘Imagine’ exhibition at the amazing modern Art Gallery, and did a Beatles double decker bus tour around the city. Our other highlight was an evening at the Cavern Club, with a fabulous Beatles tribute band who played all our favourites! What a fantastic blog, that is one of the best blogs I have ever seen! the information you research is wonderful and the way you present it, is as good as any body on TV. By the way, you can also cross the Atlantic Ocean from Liverpool just hang around for a few weeks till the QE2 visits Liverpool and just follow it to New York. {What a blog that would be!} Well done both of you.

wow what a journey you showed us. I expected it to be much busier on the water than you showed. Think it may have been the lack of control that caused some anxiety, I get that, but it always comes good. Enjoy your time in Liverpool, a bit of business is good before returning to the more quiet canals xxx
