On BudgetEDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with a budget in mind. In this week's episode we build a $100 budget Narset, Enlightened Master deck. This voltron commander deck is very resilient due to Narset's protection ability and a lot of early disruption. We filled our deck with extra turn and extra combat spells to hit off the top of our deck with Narset's ability to chain together multiple turns and set up to win the game.

You have to hard cast "Approach of the second sun" in order to win

But you can cast it the first time for free

@@tacticalbutter4574 but it's not easy to get it in your hand while attacking with Narset (unless you don't attack for 6 or 2 turns and hard draw it).

Right i was confused on that too, so exile it gain the life then dont attack the next next turn draw it then cast it. But seems like too much to me

Just came across your channel today, your decks seem well tuned for the price range. Would like to see your take on a superfriends deck tech as budget friendly as possible, I've always wanted to build that kind of deck but they are usually really expensive.

wouldnt approach of the second sun not count the second cast of it as another spell named approach of the second son? sounds more flashbackish to me. haha

Can you narset reversal approach of the second sun? So exile it as one of the 4 then reverse it to your hand then cast it?

Quick question, What do you do if your opponents keep countering narset? It holds me back so much and i can't win any games because of it. I can't afford to wait a couple of turns to keep up mana for a counterspell either, because by then i'm allready dead. Please help me out here :(. Also, I love your videos! Keep up the work!

You're in Jeskai colors. You've got counters of your own.

I dont think that there is a real solution here. Yes, Narset can be countered. Yes, you play blue so you can have counters on your own to counter their counters. Yes, you will need to wait 1-2 turns to have enough mana to play narset AND have mana for a counter in the same turn. -> Play more mana rocks so you can get to that sweet point where you have a counter backup earlier; play one of the free counters (force of will, pact of negation, ...); or play e.g. Grand Abolisher in a early round so your stuff cant be countered cheers

Just a question, really because I am curious. Don't you have to cast the Approach from your hand to win? I play it in my Yennett deck as a wincon but always feels sorta clunky because of that. Thanks for any response. This Narset deck is sweet.

Charles Hurley in my narset deck I play either mystical tutor, long term plans, and put a card called enter the infinite on the top of my Library, I’ll swing with narset cast enter the infinite for free, draw my entire deck and make omniscience my library, Then I’ll take another turn with beacon of Tommorrows and swing with narset and play my entire deck with the omniscience on top of my library and keep attacking with beacon of Tommorrows
