They technically lost a battle not the war. Tsunade was healing what was left of them so they could be back again. Always double check when you kill ppl.

I think all the 5 kage survived the perfect susanoo is because of plot.The only two kage I can see them surviving are Tsunade and Gaara

Soufiane Amghar They survived because of plot and the fact that madara was too arrogant, he didn’t even try. Tsunade almost died but orochimaru/Karin saved her. If madara actually tried they would all be dead

Also can we talk about how throughout the entire fight Madara was soundly winning while simultaneously insulting them with kind words. I mean the kage are supposed to be some of the strongest in the world, and Madara is just like "wow y'all are pretty strong, I mean you can't touch me, but good job you guys"

I think you can make the argument that since he knew he had unlimited chakra and couldn’t be killed he was toying with them a bit more then he should have cause once he can be killed you don’t really see him going easy anymore.

Thats not the problem the older generations were stronger because they all lived through wars the newer generations had it easier. In narutos generation there wasnt a war but the only reason they were at least a bit strong was since there was so much tension between villages. Until the last war of course

+Karolis Lisauskas Not really , the 2nd hokage says that he is almost of full power , same with madara (he's personality is detained by kabuto ) . in battle 3rd vs orochimaru 1st and 2nd (naruto , no NS) they personality was controlated by orochimaru and theirs powers was low.

Imagine One day in Boruto they bring all(Itachi,Jiraiya,Hashirama, and all hokage)back to help them and still can't defeat the enemy and lastly they agrees to bring "Madara Back" and he agrees to help them(by really seeing peace between all 5 nations), Just imagine the Craze then. Crazy realizing just how much stronger Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Obito, and Sakura are compared to the 5 Kage and all other ninjas!!!! Because them 5 took on Madara and afterward Kaguya by themselves and won, whereas Kage had no chance against Madara at his weakest in the war lol

Pastor Maldonado Really doubt it … The 8 gates are affected by your closed gates abilities .. Lee was just a Genin and a 13 year old kid when he faced Gaara .. Guy is an adult and a Jonin . And we're not talking about 5th gate here .. We're talking about the 8th .. Gaara isn't fast enough to do anything against 8 gates Guy .. Out of the five kage who fought Madara none can do shit against Guy in one on one just like they wouldn't do shit against Madara in one on one . If we're talking ANY five kage then Hashirama would beat his ass , Minato could do well because he can just teleport around till the effects wear off. The 3rd Raikage could be good since he's the heaviest tank in the series . And of course Naruto would beat Guy with not a lot of trouble .
