You can still use the chidori without sharingan, the side effects are that you start to tunnel vision and your opponent can use that against you because your POV is limited. The entire reason a sharingan helps with chidori is because your reaction time and reflexes are increased so you don’t tunnel vision. The reason naruto can use chidori even without sharingan is because not only can he use all 5 basic chakra natures, his reaction time and reflexes are easily above the base 3 tomoe sharingan even though he doesn’t possess it, he got this ability from hagoromo in the war which gave him the ability to, and I quote, “the inate ability to learn anything.” So yes even without sharingan naruto can use chidori.

Nah; it's was implied multiple times that Kakashi actually trained them all well before the chunin exams. It was just that during the chunin exams, Sasuke was actually ready to graduate while Naruto wasn't. So for Sasuke, that was a real exam. For Naruto, it was a practice exam (he was far from being ready for being a chunin; but his battle power became elite for his age group). Also, Chidori isn't a technique suitable for Naruto; Naruto is the kind of person that uses only a few jutsu really well and takes his enemy down. Even when Naruto masters all 5 elements, tons of sub-elements, sealing arts, summoning arts and literally has creation arts, he sticks with Rasengan, Taijutsu and Shadow Clones. Because that's what suits him.

Kakashi trained sasuke well and he even trained naruto in change in chakra nature during shippuden

@@TheDeathmail it is implied that thats the problem. Its very easy to deflect blame on a character if everything is done off-screen. Kakashi has pretty much been a terrible teacher since the start of Part 1. He virtually only taught Sasuke. Didn't teach Jackshit to Naruto or Sakura except how to climb a tree using your feet. (Something I would love to learn irl ngl). Sakura basically didn't become a character until Sakura became Tsunade's student. (Which was like 3/4ths into part 1?) And Naruto only learned 2 new ninjutsu pretty much at the end. Summoning and Rasengan. (Both of which were NOT taught by Kakashi). And 1 of those is literally useless unless you're fighting things that are bigger than a building. And the other wasn't learned until AFTER the chunin exams. Sasuke pretty much learned everything a ninja could dream of before and during the chunin exams: a spit-fire version of his fireball for range, a flamethrower version of his Fireball, a forbidden Aerial kick move, Super speed, a 1-hit kill move. 4 of those are useful virtually everywhere. Thats also not mentioning his genetic eyes. Or the super powered hickey.

@@elcato8126 the problem why kakashi only taught sasuke chidori is because he predict that his nature chakra is lighting same as him. in the other hand, naruto nature style is never lightning so it's impossible to teach naruto chidori. and if you argue that kakashi can just teach him about nature chakra, well...he have no wind jutsu at all so he can't teach some wind jutsu for naruto. and learning jutsu is always easier than making a newer jutsu. espescially on naruto's level at that time. luckily jiraiya came and taught naruto about rasengan and kakashi was shocked that naruto was able to perform such a s class jutsu

What you said is both a big deflection and a "what if", that might as well would be wrong if this episode released today. Thats the issue with having hindsight in anime, it's used to defend a character that otherwise does have legitimate criticism. Having hindsight in this series doesn't change the fact that Kakashi only taught naruto 1 thing in Part 1.

While it's true that Kakashi favored Sasuke during a single arc, it was implied that Kakashi actually focused on Naruto more and helped him more before the Wave arc.So Naruto wasn't a neglected student. And while he was focusing on Sasuke, it should be noted that at the time, -Sasuke was closer to being a chunin than Naruto (he was chunin level right after graduating). So it's like helping the person that's closer to graduating than the student that has a lot more time. -He was facing a psycho like Gaara (and while Neji almost killed Hinata, it should be noted that he had a personal grudge against her and it wasn't his usual self) -Sasuke was recently hit with a cursed seal and Kakashi was trying to give him an alternative avenue of power so that he wouldn't be tempted. And for Naruto, it should be noted that: -Kakashi did leave a great teacher for Naruto who was perfect for teaching Naruto the points Kakashi probably told him -Kakashi probably planned on training Naruto later after the Chunin exams (since Naruto was far from ready), so Naruto's victory probably meant a lot less and it would be a good learning experience -We as viewers put more importance into the chunin exams, but in reality, it was not as important as we made it out to be; Kakashi put Naruto in there for training purposes, since Naruto was way to far into becoming a chunin. And for Sakura: -She had the most growth in the exam -She needed a break

The PROBLEM I have with Kakashi's teaching is that and that alone, not that he didn't teach Naruto Chidori. Sure, Sasuke would need help against Gaara, after all, we all saw what he did to Lee...but then again, Naruto was up against Neji, and we saw what he did to Hinata, yet Naruto gets tossed to that forgettable guy that didn't even like Naruto and wouldn't of been able to teach Naruto anything that would've helped him against Neji. It should be noted that Kishimoto literally created the shadow clone training to counter the fact that he accidentally made too many cheats for Sasuke without thinking about it. At the time, Sasuke had so many cheats that he logically had to surpass Naruto. -He started off at a higher place than Naruto in skills before the time skip -Sasuke was already good at learning even without Sharingan -His Sharingan would help him memorize stuff and master/mimic what he wanted to learn -Orochimaru had few morals and would supply Sasuke a lot of prisoners to fight -Orochimaru had lots of drugs and experiments to use on Sasuke -Sasuke had a training obsession that responsible adults wouldn't have allowed with a personal medic next to him whenever he needed (Kabuto and Karin). And all of that came from sh*t Kishi set up earlier on... so Sasuke had to grow faster than anyone else or everything Kishi made before hand would make no sense. So Kishimoto had no choice but to make Naruto a cheat of his own with the excuse being that Naruto wasn't skilled enough to use it before this moment and that Naruto was too stupid to know the technique had this kinda cheat. And Kakashi then all of the sudden learned Rasengan so that he could teach Naruto how to upgrade his art with Wind Release and make Naruto an elite even among Jounin (and 1 step away from being Kage level).
