Nas is better MC. Jay is better rapper. Nas is like a judo master. Jay is like a champion boxer. Nas perfected the artform of emceeing and is respected by everyone but he wouldn't be able to spit lyrical and in your face bars like Jay-Z does and vice versa

+Yasin BMT Mmh I'm not sure tbh even though both are really lyrical I feel like a lot of people overrate Nas' lyricism because of the legacy and reputation he has I mean back in '94 illmatic was so different to anything before that and changed hip hop forever but after illmatic it felt like Nas didn't improve or nothing whereas Jay kept reinventing himself and making his bars more easy to understand but also just as lyrical. I mean look at this uk.complex.com/music/2012/10/jay-z-50-best-double-entendres/ Tbh I've never heard Nas spit many double entendres or punchlines like Jay does and that's why I feel the gap between them isn't as big as you think. I've always said Jay is more simple and in your face whereas Nas is more subtle and unique. It's not as simple as ones better than the other

+Yasin BMT Illmatic was a classic, It was written was meh, Stillmatic was a very good album and in all honesty I've not heard Streets Disciple all the way through. It was written was like Illmatic in many ways because it had same rapper, same consistency of rhyming the only differences was one minor one of Nas going from Nasty Nas to Nas Escobar and the major one of the production not being anywhere near as good. That's why Nas is overrated. Because take away all the beats and compare just lyrics and generally Nas' are confusing to many and need to deciphering which doesn't always mean more lyrical. Of course to most hip hop fans though we understand it and can take the real meaning of the lyrics into consideration with the time they were written and form our opinion on who's best but Nas has never made an album with simple lyrics that were easy for everyone to understand whilst also being lyrical. Jay has plus he's done an underground album with Reasonable Doubt

The one the stuck in the most " So analyze me, surprise me, but can't magmatize me Scannin' while you're plannin' ways to sabotage me I leave 'em froze, like heroin in your nose Nas will rock well; it ain't hard to tell" .... thank you

I'm playing the video to Aint Hard to Tell in another browser so the song is the background music to this clip, why the fuck both videos are by same company and they didn't realize they should do THIS to make plain talking less boring but also to GIVE CONTEXT to what he's talking about, IDFK...
