collimation is important to keep as much of eyes from being in image but both laterals are necessary for nasal bones. Different hospitals have different routines and an axial view is not needed in this instance.

@@jeffreyjobe1984 In Australia, both laterals are known to be done, but in my 45 years of doing the job, I have never done it. That is mostly because a broken nose gets a clinical diagnosis. The axial view is not done often because it is not done well. 30 years ago we would stick an occlusal film into the mouth which would produce some good results at high dose. Using a cassette for this purpose is difficult but actually do-able. The modified waters projection is done, but never done in the prone or supine position as fluid levels in the sinuses may have clinical significance. CT scanning has also changed work flows and priorities
