Most of the lag issues come from the emulator

NASCAR 08 was way better than 09 on the PS2. They made the COT so slow that you would be full throttle racing on intermediates. You couldn't pass on the outside if you were about 5th place. Even then, N09 was not that great on the Xbox 360 and PS3 but I do remember the online part was fun.

Fun fact: when you create a paint scheme here, you can choose if you want to have many decals on your car or none. However, the decals features in your created car are ALL FROM NASCAR 08, which means, that the Nascar Nextel logo and the Nascar Busch Series logo are still there

It wasn't worth it to unlock fantasy drivers in this game. You had to earn 4 medallions, unlock Speedway Blvd, master that track, then spend more medallions to unlock the Daytona Infield, MASTER THAT TRACK, and then SPEND MORE MEDALLIONS to unlock fantasy drivers. I think some of the tasks to master a track were to win the race, lap 5 cars, and win a race without using rewind.

Just a thought, maybe start a series on old forza motorsports; like 2,3,4 even the original. I think it would be something fresh to the channel

“the ps2 obviously didn’t have that kind of power” couldn’t they had taken the jeff gordon vids and made them into cheap fmv’s, if the ps1 did it for the thunder games why didn’t they do it for this

There's actually a really funny glitch in this game. If you turn off unlimited fuel/tires, set the race length to 8% and go to Texas Infield, the AI never pits and runs out of gas before the pit stop. Guaranteeing you an easy win.

Unironicly the first Nascar game I've ever played, I had a blast as a kid, this game was fun back then, I haven't played in years though.

I remember buying nascar 09 for ps2 at Sears for $10 during holiday season 2009, so I’m not convinced it was ever sold for full price lol

Basically, this is a poor man's version of this game if you could not afford the current gen consoles at the time. I only had the PS3 version so I never got cursed by this version. And yeah the lack of Manufacturers was a big flaw but at least you could fix that on the 360 and PS3 version via the Paint booth (which I spent way more time in then actually racing, even when I did league racing). PS2 owners though, yeah naw. From what I remember reading, the team that did the games prior to 08 (05, 06 and 07) were moved over to the PS3 and 360 version while another internal studio handled the PS2 version (and from the looks of things, basically recycled the assets that were then since 2005 save for the COT and none manufacterer badged Nationwide cars).

I remember playing this game with my brother at loudon (my home track) and literally every single time the front stretch would get completely blocked 😂

Also Rubber banding was in the PS3/Xbox360 version also! I remember going like 230mph when I got too far behind lol
