I love it. It's simple to understand, it'll be engaging, even down to pit stops. It's a perfect nod to what NASCAR is getting across this season and that is that it's the present, paying respect to the past, as we look to the future. I just hope and pray that this isn't just a one time deal. That track, among countless others, deserve the limelight and deserve recognition. Please don't let this be a one and done, please keep North Wilkesboro and it's never ending legacy alive in some format moving forward. Not gonna lie, I'm a 28 year old man, I was only 2 years old when North Wilkesboro went away. I have no personal memories of my own, just memories of years gone by from the people in my life that got me into this incredible sport, my mother and my grandfather. I can't wait to have memories of my own and I can't wait to soak in this incredible weekend. Thank you NASCAR for making some small town kid have the most incredible memories of his life with moments like these.

That's exactly right. Dale Jr certainly made the push, but it was the iRacing community that he was speaking for. I'm about 90% sure that the idea was first brought up in the forum there.

You might be right but everyone who has mentioned i racing has also said its important to remember that I racing isn't going to save Nascar and Nascar Should steer away from gimmick races except for dirt racing at Bristol and North Wilkesboro until they possibly win enough fans back into accepting the dirt short track roots of Nascar again and can get sponsorship and TV deals set up for a few races ❤ a year and like Jr has mentioned a few times expose the young drivers who are dirt track aces to to the Cup series fans to get to know and appreciate their driving talents and abilities and experience that it takes to climb the ladder towards the Cup series and of course adding short tracks into the schedule will mean the short tracks will have to be in the same area as the bigger tracks on the schedule and Nascar would have to work on scheduling but with the same "local" fans at both the short and longer tracks the average income for Nascar should keep going up enough to make even the most money hungry Management types happy❤😅😊 to the point that they won't mind going back to the old style "have to spend some money in order to maybe make a lot of money " business model that the other major sports organizations have more or less stuck to during all of their growth and continue to do 😅😊😅😊

Doubt nascar will have 4 points races in North Carolina when they want to go to other markets.

I imagine it will get a regular season points race. The all star race is sold out and the news has caused the biggest hype for nascar in a long time. Considering all the money dumped into updating the track, seating etc it would make no sense for it to be a one and done cup race.

I think people are going to be surprised by how boring that track is. Especially with these cars.

@@ad206 I don’t know, maybe maybe not. I still watch N Wilkesboro 80s-90s Winston cup races on KZfaq and they’re fun. I went to the race track revival last august and it was a great event as well. The wheel package and pit stop limitations for the all star race format will hopefully help the racing this May.

@@ad206 the track is only boring because cup cars r boring.when the mods race their in sept. its going 2 b a barnburner.

I've was at the open house on May 10. The track is in good shape. It's rough, has very little patch work. The fixed the pavement cracks really well.

They did that at Bristol. 2 of them almost died because racer are racers and even at that age they want to win.

To be honest at the price of admission I'm surprised it's not commercial free Pay Per View. It will cost a family of 3 well over $1,500.00 for the allstar weekend in a struggling economy. Sure am happy I'm a single man with no kids at home..😂😂

I’m from NC and have about $650-700 between tickets and parking. It’s a pricey event for sure.
