@@RobertsSportsShow Scotty mac beat SVG most times in the supercars when they raced against each other. it could be argued that he had a better team but his team mate Fabian Coulthard didn't go so well ?

@@johntaylor6654 Fabian is the Checo of supercars. SVG and Scotty are pretty much level on talent, Scotty just has Father Time on his side as he's a few years younger.

@@RobertsSportsShow Yes he is a real nice guy, will take time out to talk with you and is happy to help others, he is a hard but fair racer as seen by the dual with Larson, but if you dish one out to him he will wait patiently and return the serve when it has the most impact. Go the Giz our real Kiwi race machine.

Just a question how similar are Nascars to V8 super cars, could a Nascar go to the V8 supercars and do well? I don't even watch car racing but when I heard the SVG our kiwi driver was doing well in Nascar I had just had to take a look, but do u think he can win a oval race? He doesn't seem to do well in those.

He’s improving week in week out on the ovals considering having never raced ovals in his life. It’ll take some time but he’ll get there. He loves racing. How about Scott McLaughlin. Never raced ovals either, hasn’t won yet on an oval but he smashed the lap record at Indy when he got pole at the Indy500 this year. It takes time but he’ll be at the front real soon

The cars are not the same. The Xfiniy cars and the Cup cars are not the same as each other let alone the Supercars series cars. There are similarities though so a driver can learn quickly as when SVG won his first outing in a Cup car. Many drivers may be discombobulated by having to sit on the other side of the car.

From everything I know, the V8 Supercars and NASCAR Cup car are very similiar format, maybe like cousins. I think some top NASCAR talent could go to Supercars. I think that being on the right side driver it would be harder. SVG at least had driven other series on the left side. NASCAR has the Xfinity series which is the main series he is running in 2024 (Xfinity series is like a minor league 1 step down from Cup) He is running fulltime (33 Races) In xfinity and about 8 in Cup Series) He has 3 wins (2 road courses /1 Street course). Yes I do believe he can win on a oval, he is getting better and better as time goes on. He is running about 15th out of 38 in most oval races. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have no doubt, that SVG will win on an oval. The car control he has, his ability to learn. Scott is really good, he's got wins on road course but he has some 2nd place finishes on ovals, short ovals like Iowa, and big ovals like Texas. Remember Scott is on his 4th season and has won 5 races already. Thanks for watching and commenting

Yes SVG owns the streets and road courses. I think it's great how he learned very quickly how the NASCAR boys race, and givening it back to them.

Yes! That is true. But finishing 2nd, ( I know the penality) and having that dust up with Austin, I think helped SVG. He took that knowledge and beat Austin at Sonoma, then did the full track drift behind him for the full lap, just rubbing his noise in it. Thanks for watching and commenting

Teams fault. They screwed up SVG's pit stop. It was too slow. They blew everything that SVG achieved in stage 1. He was the leading car, fisrt to pit but far from the first to leave the pits. He got jumped by 4 cars in the pit stop. Putting him back behind cars that he had already paseed, back in traffic with it all to do again. But this time in very bad conditions. The bad pit stop put him in a much more vunerable situation than he otherwise should have been. Lost all his advantage, control of the race and track postion. Very poor visibility at the restart because of all the spray coming off tge cars in front of him, and back in traffic with muppets behind him with little to no wet whether driving experience.

How do you know it was the pit stop's fault? We didn't actually see the clock for the pit stop itself if I recall. Half of your pit road position is on the driver, how do you know he wasn't pushing the speed on pit road, or wasn't aggressive enough in getting in the box, or out of the box.

One thing I have learned from SVG he doesn't blame. Yes a slow pit stop got in back a few positions, that led to what happen. The good thing about of that, pit crews will learn, he will learn. Kaulig Racing and Trackhouse Racing both know what kind of talent they have with SVG. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Typically they show the pit stop time for the top few cars, I believe a couple stayed out, and he did loose a couple of spots. You are right it is on the team and the driver. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@fc7424 I don’t blame the pit crew. It’s all on Briscoe. Now that some more time has passed. I’m not that mad at him as much. He was pushing to find his limit & unfortunately made a costly error & took out Shane. It’s racing. It happens. Not the pit crews fault. It is what it is
