Had the pleasure of meeting Ned at turn 7 Sears Point 1992. He walked over from his broadcast station and signed an autograph. I thanked him for all his victories he brought Ford and he said he was proud to drive that #11.

I was a Richard Petty fan but became a Dale Jarrett fan after the King retired because I always had such respect for Ned. Dale was driving the Wood Bros. #21 when I first became a fan of his. Dale went on to have himself a really great career just like Ned did

I only ever got to hear and see Ned Jarrett as a broadcaster because his racing career was finished well before my time, but I'll always be a fan of his. A true legend not only of NASCAR but of motor racing as a whole. Did you know that when the first ever NASCAR sanctioned race was held outside of North America in February 1988 in my home of Australia, Ned Jarrett was the one that ESPN sent down under to cover the race (the Goodyear NASCAR 500k exhibition race won by Neil Bonnett). And while he didn't play a big part in the local broadcast by Australia's Seven Network (ESPN took their feed), he was interviewed pre-race by I believe Chris Economaki who was working the pits for Seven that day. That was the first time I (only 12 years old at the time) had ever heard of Ned Jarrett, but I instantly became a fan.

Funny that Bobby Allison also began racing under a fake name so that his dad wouldn't find out.

Most NASCAR drivers will tell you that they left their families behind and had nothing to do with them because racing took up all of their time well-made. Is the opposite of that he tried the best to be a father and a husband during the time he was racing he should be rewarded in the Hall of Fame for being the best father and husband he could be while being a NASCAR champion unlike most Champions who just left everything behind to race.

Ned Jarrett's driving career ended way before my time but I became a fan of Dale Jarrett after my favorite driver Richard Petty retired. Dale Jarrett was driving the Wood Bros. #21 Ford when I first became a DJ fan. Many people say that Ned is the classiest guy in the history of NASCAR. DJ always drove Ford's and so did Ned I believe. Always remember seeing old footage of Ned driving the blue #11 Ford Galaxie 427

Got a die-cast model of the CITCO Ford #21 w/Dale Jarrett's name on the roof sitting on my mantel. It's the car that he won his first race at Michigan in.

I honestly can't get over how Glenn Jarrett talks just like Chocolate Myers and the late Benny Parsons. I wonder if it's North Carolina thing or all three of them just had deep baritone southern accents.

I see all of these AWESOME clips of various old races here. WHERE ARE THE COMPLETE RACE FOOTAGE of all of these races? They are out there somewhere, and if I can get any tips I will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get it posted.
