It's just part of NASCAR. Ever since they put restrictor plates on the cars they're forced to knock people out of the way and/or draft. And even though the crashes look terrible, the last death in NASCAR was in 2001 and the most major injuries that they suffer is a broken leg. They have obscenely high safety precautions. Edit: I should also mention that Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s death was also what brought upon so many of the safety overhauls to the sport. The big three being the HANS device, the new barrier, and the 'car of tomorrow'.

@@lucasrios9249 True. Austin Dillon deserves to be in cup. Kevin Harvick got in cup bc of Earnhardt Sr.'s death. Dillon waited and got a ride in the cup series, after having success in both Trucks and Xfinity. Not hating on Harvick, but there are more reasons than just their name.

Cameron Bebeau Harvick ain’t no fluke either. He showed promise in the Busch Series and won the championship in 2001 while doing double duty in cup, where he nabbed 2 wins, a 9th place points finish and ROTY, after running 35/36 races. There were already plans to put him in the #31 car full time in 2002.
