Milton S Hershey continued his rags to riches story after selling his caramel company. Creating the Hershey bar. A chocolate treat that is now one of many in America's number one chocolate company, The Hershey Company. However, they are not the number one in NASCAR. They had some big names such as Mark Martin, Bill Elliott, Dale Earnhardt, and Kevin Harvick represent the Reese's, PayDay, and Hershey brands. Even winning a NASCAR championship. Still it was hard to keep up with Kyle Busch and M&Ms, resulting in their sponsorship demise. That is just the tip of the iceberg. After 2022 with M&M's gone i hope Hershey's will come back to nascar but i don't think Kyle will take it.

I'm kind of a Kyle Busch fan, I would love to see him in the orange Reese's color, but the silver and brown Hershey's scheme is the ugliest scheme I've ever seen

It would be the greatest thing if they came back to NASCAR and sponsored Kyle Busch. Not only because it would be a hilarious middle finger to the Mars company, but Kyle Busch could still be know as the Candy Man, and candy sponsors are very appealing to children, getting them into the sport.

A year later and the Mars corporation is out of the sport while Hershey's has stepped up their sponsorship with being Reese's. Reese's is an official partner of the arca series. As well as Hershey's and Reese's have been sponsors more in Xfinity and cup in recent year.

You forgot... Before M&Ms was on the 36 of Ken Schrader, it was sponsored by their Skittles brand when Ernie Irvan drove the 36 in the cup series

And in a one off race in 1998, almost 4 year before they sponsored Schrader, M&Ms sponsored Irvan in a one off race at Las Vegas as a way to promote the recently opened M&Ms World, which is what Kyle Busch is running as his throwback this to celebrate M&Ms long history in Nascar since they will no longer be a Nascar sponsor after Phoenix in November.

I was young when they came around. But they were an early 90's fad that seemed to come out of no where. And then it disappeared as fast as it had come around. The 90's had a lot of fads that would blowup and be the "have to have" item for like 6-8 months and then fade quickly.

@@acemoneymaker8242 yes. I'm thinking 96 97 I want to say. I remember going to a festival at one of our state parks with my mom and they had several vendors selling pogs. One was dedicated, you had fancy slammers, storage cases, they were the thing. I had a lot lol and I vaguely remember the Mark Martin ones. 90s had cool toys.

@@jamesdb7115 it was a little before that, more like 94-95 id say. I played with em in elementary school, and wanna say i was in 3rd or 4th grade during the craze. We were definitely too cool for them in 5th grade 😆 which wouldve been 95-96

Man imagine if Dale Sr. didn’t pass we would’ve seen Hershey going places as a sponsorship for Dale and I saw a fan made car design of Hershey not a diecast but a computerized car design. On eBay there’s Dale Earnhardt Hershey logo cap, T-shirt heck even a duffel bag and that’s something... There’s so little articles about what kind of paint schemes Dale would’ve used and what could’ve been... for example his car would’ve been white for the All-Star race in 2001 and a special Oreo themed Grinch car. Whatever the future held was robbed from us seeing how 2001 and probably beyond for Dale and his endorsement with sponsors including Sonic....

Ironically enough, most MARS products themselves aren’t getting the exposure they could get given how many MARS products there actually are. *Kyle Busch’s last cup win in which the primary sponsor of the race wasn’t M&Ms, Skittles, or Interstate Batteries was 2010*

Kinda surprised no mention of Mars company's initial involvement. From 1990-92 Snickers sponsored the Stavola Bros. #8 with drivers Bobby Hillin, Jr., Rick Wilson, and Dick Trickle or the move in 1993 to being the decklid sponsor for the new #24 Hendrick team and rookie Jeff Gordon. It was this association with Hendrick that eventually led Mars to become a full time sponsor with the Skittles brand in 1996 with the new MB2 #36 and driver Derrike Cope

If Hersey's makes a comeback, they should promote all their products throughout the year, and not just focus on one, like Reese's for example. That's just me.

So, Pepsi lost to Coca-Cola and Reese lost to M&Ms and other candy products. But what about the car batteries NRF? Exide Batteries .vs Interstate Batteries. Exide lost and Interstate won.

Hershey leaving NASCAR was kind of smart cause NASCAR's ratings were going down so why be a sponsor at that point. Also it costs a lot of money to sponsor a race car so why use that money which is not guaranteed to get you new buyers.
