ARTIFACT set up at the Nashville vintage guitar show to exhibit our new custom waxed canvas & leather amp covers, guitar straps, luthier aprons, and accessories. I walked the show before doors opened to get some video of the beautiful vintage guitars and amps - one of which came home with me!

Definitely the most enjoyable of the THOUSANDS of guitar show videos I have watched. You moved the camera slow....showed the whole guitar AND the price. Plus, your covers look cool as shit. Thanks for your time :)

Realy nice stuff in the shops,you visited.What amazed me,was the light green/blue covered Londen City halfstack.That were cheap Marshall copies, made in Amsterdam. I think these are super rare in the States.

Appreciated. Still think that early 60s Gretsches are still good value. People asking crazy (crazier than usual) prices for modified Goldtops - never gonna happen.
@artifactgoods

True. 1960's Gretches and Rickenbackers have not climbed at the rate of other makers.

I agree. A nice vintage Gretsch can be had at a much more realistic price and they are great guitars. Gretsch are my personal favorite electric guitars, so they make even more sense for me.

I would say you can justify needing one. Beyond that is strictly want, and I want many!

It blows my mind how much people are willing to spend on vintage gear, does all this stuff actually sell or does it get traded around mostly?

I'm french so excuse my lack of US market price culture but are 60K for a 1960 strat a usual price in 2022 ? even here, you can find one for 50% of that amount i think, or even less, probably not in such a nice condition though, the vintage Gretsch seem so affordable in comparison
@artifactgoods
@artifactgoods 2 жыл бұрын
Those are unprecedented prices but they were custom color. Sunburst 60's strats sell for much, much less. Gretsches have not soared like Fender or Gibson and they probably never will.

Sad to see all that gear just sitting in a shop and not affordable enough to play. Times are ah changing my friend. Glad I ended up with some old gear when it was cheap. I mean real cheap...I sure wouldn't buy it at today's price, have to build it now.

It's been this way for a while. I remember the moment years ago when I looked at my old strat and decided I cannot no longer gig with this instrument because it's worth more than my car! Now it needs a refret and there is are people who think I am devaluing the instrument by making it 100% playable again. Did they keep the original tires on their 1969 GTO?

$60K for a guitar that cost maybe $400 to build in todays money? Well, if you have a few million laying around looking for something to do, sure. But really, that's a Mercedes or a down payment on a house.

Those old guitars are not made anymore. There were only a certain number made by hand with woods no longer available and they have a certain history that can not be replicated. Therefore, they are now collectables reflecting supply & demand laws of collectors items.
