Exquisite. In an earlier era that would have scored a well deserved 10.00!

This shows it doesn't have to be the most difficult vault to be beautiful 👍

For everyone who complained, saying Shawn should have won- look at THIS vault versus the sloppy one Shawn did. Shawn only just barely got the 2.5 around with a large step whereas Nastia stuck this cold. She also had a huge bars advantage, a flawless beam (Shawn had a few little errors here and there), and a solid floor. She EARNED her AA gold!

Yeah Nastia earned the Gold, but not because of The vault. The 2006-2008 CoP was a Mess on Bars. A bars specialist would benefit largely in an AA competition. So Nastia got over 16 on a bars routine, how could anyone compete with that? Overall, Shawn had stronger beam, floor and vault. Under another CoP, Nastia would hardly win that competition

100% agree! There’s a lot to be said for choosing a vault with a lower SV but performing it perfectly rather than going for broke with an Amanar and incurring execution deductions. Nastia deserved Gold here, she also deserved gold in the UB final but corruption won out in the end sadly.

@@resultoconsultoria I don’t disagree for sure. that’s the point though - under THAT code she was the best that day. It’s up to each gymnast and their coach to take greatest advantage of the code given, and she did. That code was pretty heavy on bars, but it was the same for everyone. I wasn’t personally a fan of that code, but each person had equal opportunity. On paper, Shawn was better- barely. In the end I’m glad both got their coveted gold medal. Would most of Nastia’s routines still be competitive? Only her bars. Her beam would lose massive connection value. Shawn’s routine would still be highly competitive which is really remarkable.

ive been watching gymnastics for months now, but what the hell are e scores adn D scores???
@antwonnyy5 жыл бұрын
Emily P d score is determined by how hard your skills are, e score is execution score which is out of a possible 10 points and you add those two together to get their highest possible score for whatever they’re performing Like here her d score is 5.5 then add the e score (10) and she could’ve gotten a 15.500

It's only a yerchenco 1.5 sooo

The execution score seems a little low, I can find 0.1 for slight bend in arms while hitting the horse, and another 0.1 in landing slightly off center. If I'm picky, then another 0.1 for the very slight pike when twisting. So I would've given a 9.7

It should be a “10” based on the old scoring system. I see no deductions. None
@randomeryetfun58413 жыл бұрын
No, in the old scoring system it would probably worth a 9.8 maximum score so she would not able to get higher than that. Vault is not just about how you deliver it, it's also about the difficulty level you choose. Nastia chose a lower level of difficulty which is 1.5 twist yurchenko.

There are more difficult vaults than this type of vault such as Amanar (2.5 twists yurchenko as shown by Shawn) or Cheng (as shown by Cheng Fei) which probably worth a 10 maximum score.

@@randomeryetfun5841 I just checked the 2001-2005 COP, looks like it has a 9.7 SV which sounds pretty uncompetitive

Anyone else hear Break the Sword of Justice from Tsubasa Chronicle when Nastia starts running? I remember it was used for someone’s floor exercise. I think she was from an Eastern European country.
