Just a wee hint. If you have to work with something particularly pungent, a wee smear of Vicks Vapo rub under the nose really helps. Medical staff and police use it for dealing with cadavers. So l recommend it for anything stinky. Hope that helps in the future. I really enjoy watching your work. So satisfying and therapeutic. Who needs CALM or sleep apps. Watch a couple of your videos, and it calms and soothes. Not to mention a feeling of deep satisfaction once they are clean. Thank you so much for sharing your work.

In cadaver lab, we would sprinkle essential oil on masks to combat the smell if that helps. Also, we use simplegreen for our drains as preventive maintaince overnight. And oxiclean with hot water is excellent for getting difficult stains and making things spotless.

I've always wondered what it smelled like in the room due to the drain. Or was it only bad when you got close? Anyway, considering how the video started you did a great job cleaning it. I'd probably have thrown up multiple times, so yay for no smell-vision 😂

As someone with a reasonably strong stomach, this was just as satisfying as your other cleaning videos. I didn't know you had to clear the drain manually! I can't believe all that dirt came from just three months' worth of dirty rugs. The way the dirt is caked together is incredible... looks like the brownie batter from Hell!

I wondered why there was never any "and THIS is what came out of this rug" at the end of each full video. Seems like the logical thing to do - show the full emptying of the trough at the end. Maybe that's just me. I find it kinda satisfying to watch all that yuck being poured out of the buckets (into a grey water filtration system to eventually be used on the garden). Might be a good idea to invest in a respirator mask if you leave it that long again in future. I imagine the smell is something like the sillage left behind when flood water recedes - it's gag-inducing. Also, just curious (I used to work in a pump company) could you elevate one end of your waste trough and have a submersible pump in the low end permanently? Or a 1.5-2 inch drain plug with hose attachment to gravity drain the trough to outside? Sorry, just thoughts in my head for an easier clean up...

For some reason I had assumed there was like... a *drain* in there lol. But then I got curious because- surely you don't just dump that water into the local sewer! Hopefully when you keep on top of it a little more often you won't get more stains :b You mention soaking and maybe filling up the area- I've seen another rug cleaning company use these really long plastic tubes/bags that they roll the rug up and put into before filling it with water/cleaner and sealing it off so it's one big water tube. Perhaps something similar, or even a long tub of some sort, could be an idea for you so you don't have so much water just hanging around? I'm curious when you'll implement that!
