..Natalie had a MASSIVE 4 week #1 Dance Club tune with this version of the Bruce Springsteen song....She added interpolations of the ' C&C House Radio Mix' into this live version (4:34) ....Natalie HATED Dance Music, but she was Queen of the CLUBS, May 1988.... (4:50)

This is the performance I remember from Natalie Cole back in 1988. Absolutely amazing! I had to find it on YT when I heard that she has left us. Cannot believe she has gone already.

Love Natalie Cole, a great voice! Apparently she didn't like this song, but was pushed by the record company to record it. Lucky she took their advice, as it was a huge hit for her. I also like Bruce Springsteen's original version.

I'm surprised by that. Originally Bette Midler wanted to record 'Pink Cadillac' but Bruce, who owns the rights to the song, refused to allow any women to record it at the time.

@@cdhilton7124True. It was destined to Natalie Cole. By this time she was literally everywhere in the charts all over the world. This was the song that made her a worldwide household name. Even before than "Unforgetable". That's why her then label was reluctant in her following the Jazz route afterwards.
