Just an FYI always wash and dry your new curtains. Remove immediately from dryer and hang. Not only will you have less wrinkles, you will know whether they shrink/fade with washing while you are still within the “return window”. So many people hang them and then wash six months later to reveal they don’t hold up in wash. And … many curtains are treated with weird chemicals. So a good cleaning and fresh smell is a bonus.

I like the trade out concept ....I have done the same thing. I want my 1880 home to have that feel. Little by little I replaced what I didn't want (Donating them as they were in very good condition) with more of the old world feel items. My puzzles are in old tins (I spay painted old cookie tins), I use old wicker baskets and Mason Jars ...My summer project is to look for an large antique frame to surround my TV.

Thanks for your smiley face as I'm feeling a little bit down today. I am originally from CT, but I married (42nd anniversary is June 26) to my husband's homestead in northeastern PA. I have several dump sites, but the worst is the kitchen island. It gets cleaned off and then "poof" the clutter returns. Happy summer ☀️ 😊

I live in the Central Oregon high desert. Sagebrush never really changes. My walls have always had color. 10-15 years ago I became all about the Mission/Craftsman style. Can't wait for rich wood and deep color to come storming back 😊

I've always like darker/richer tones for wood items in my home. But since our home is small (a 14' wide single wide manufactured home) and just under 1000 sqft - the light greys & white brighten & enlarge our rooms. Just each main areas have colors to warm them up along with rich wood tones.

Hello from Australia! E we live in Queensland, an hour north from Brisbane. We are heading into our second month of winter. Our winter months are June, July and August. Our new season starts on the 1st day of the month. Spring starts 1 September. We don’t get snow where we are because it’s to warm in Qld

Watching from SW Florida. We measure our seasons mostly by Snowbird/non Snowbird, although it often seems like it’s all “tourist” now-a-days. Rainy season is starting. I’m a minimalist and I have no clutter zones. Things stay much, much cleaner when there are no kids and no pets. I have many chores that go on my list every three months-the weeks of the solstice and equinox. Since the weather doesn’t change much they help me mark and celebrate the seasons; polish the silver, wash,wax and detail my car, clean my vacuum parts and filters, clean dryer vent, oil the cutting boards, launder the mattress protector, things like that which don’t happen regularly but it’s hard to remember when you did them last. I do them whether they need it or not. The week of the change of seasons is when I make sure they get done.

I love the new curtains. We have added green velvet throw pillows and curtains too in our house and I love them! You might consider getting another set of curtains because it seems like that would frame the window a bit better. To each her own! ❤

Yesss! My 2016 self did all the grey and white bc I wanted to calm my space down but you are right a declutter would have done that for me. I love white walls but I’m dipping my toes in color a bit too. I actually painted our den a deep green and I love it! LOVE the new curtains you chose!

Since we live in a small house (just at 1000sqft) light grey & white keeps everything bright & larger. I do add color to each room (teal/blue in master suite - blue/burgundy in living room - red in kitchen & blue/ rose in spare bedroom suite)

we live in Australia and its winter. however we don't get snow in the rural part of south Australia where we live. but it has been a cold winter so far. I’m in Paraguay, the southern cone. It’s our winter season. We have fairly mild winters but it’s odd for us to be cold on the 4th of July, 100*F on Christmas, Easter is in the fall, and Thanksgiving is in the spring!😊 love your porch

Hii!! I'm from South Africa. Winter is cold here in the Freestate, but not as cold as let's say last year .. I'm also an autumn person .. used to be a summer one, but last year's summer was just too much. Can't handle that heat!
