Maybe you guys should build a coop or something for them to be in and go in when weather is bad . But you did an awesome job catching them. Hope all is well during your cold snap, It is only 2 degrees and wind chills in the minus Our chickens are in their coop with the heat lamps on, along with the 3 turkeys. we have about 8 inches of snow on the ground, stay safe and let us know how everything goes. They had a coop beside the barndominium. They took it down because the chickens didn't use it so it became wasted space.

I bet you guys could definitely get your chickens used to a coop. When we get new chickens, we have to put them in the coop and lock them in there for 3 days, don't let them out. They learn this is there home and they will return to it every night. We just make sure we get new chickens in the cooler weather cause I don't want them locked in there in the heat. We have never had an issue returning to the coop with new chickens. Hope this may help you guys if you decide to build a coop some day. Love you all and your videos.

Life on a farm in Texas is never boring! 68 degrees one day and 28 with ice the next!!! I do like the tent idea! A small coop would help when you have small ones for bad weather or predators. Nice job!

Well, I’ve never heard about bring the chickens inside like that before. I raised chickens for 4-H and I had 200 of them so there was no way for me to do that. But we did use heat lamps in the coop. You guys tickle me to death. I love y’all. ♥️❤️🥰♥️❤️

Jaimie one of the families I watch on KZfaq bought a small trailer and made a little hen house for their chickens. They made it really nice. If you’re interested in checking them out it’s Phil and Alex on KZfaq. They now live in Tennessee and are starting a small farm there and live off their land. I know you take such good care of all your feather babies, you’re such a good Mom to them. 😘

Jami I remember last year freeze and putting up the tent for all feathers babies and extremely worried about the ducks. The ducks do well in snow and ice and will keep a pond from completely freezing over. Who knew, I didn't. Stay warm you all, much love❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤

Those are some spoiled birds, I’d say!!! Chickens can handle the cold up to -6, whereas Barnevelders are heartier and can handle up to -20 in sheltered spaces from the snow and wind! But, a happy chicken is what lays the egg, even when their laying is slow in winter! 💖

I remember last year! Goldie being broody in your bathroom! The chicken tent was a bit bigger in the barndominium. I've been worried about the serama bantams because of the extreme cold. I'm glad you could get them. Yeah I learned from Jason at Cog Hill about the wee birds not handling cold well. Good job by all of you catching and toting chickens! Even though they are not coop chickens its always nice to still have a coop for when it get super cold. My chickens were not coop chickens either but when it got cold and the heat light came on they all gone in there. Megan a trooper.

I guess it's time to build a real coop... Jami.. They will eat in the coop and go out side to graze and eat bugs.. Then go in at night to roost.. And like Lester said.. You can put a lamp in there for heat... And it would be so much easier on Lester you and the kids! Well I just had a good laugh watching you guys catch them all! Thanks!

I am in SE Texas, alot of yall don't know... if we get this cold it might last a couple of nights at most 1, 2 maybe 1 day, which definately doesn't happen every year lived way south most life, now I live an hours drive further North, which might make a little difference...but not much. The Santuary is 12 miles or so from me, so it doesn't get this cold often...and if it gets really cold, it doesn't last as long as this has! This is Sun Feb 6, we were below freezing for several days, day and night, have finally gone above...and going be 50's tomorrow...YEA! Dallas REALLY got turned to popsicle, more North of here... but not a lot, about 3 to 4 hours drive...Wow, this was seriously bad for us! Why you hear us having a fit, we just don't get this cold often, and certainly don't stay that way as long as this storm did! Really was a monster!

It seems so odd coming from under 3 ft snow right now in Ontario Canada. Our animals do much better in winter than summer. Especially the chickens. We don't use lamps either in case of power outage so they are acclimated. Love the care you give and channel. You entertain me while I thaw out.

Jamie I love the way you try to take care of all your fur babies or should I say your feather babies. I live here in North Carolina and have my chicken free ran we just had snow for the last three weekends my chickens Roost in the trees and they done just fine they are adapt for weather outside I do have a couple old barns they could got in but they prefer the trees so I let them do their thing and they all fine. Hope all your babies make it through y'all bad weather. I look forward every day for y'all videos I watched all of them. I have laughed I have cry y'all do a great job thank you for making my life better.

It's here too. Another foot of snow, on top of the four inches we got yesterday and the foot we got the day before. Sidewalks shoveled and streets plowed. Those chickens are fine as long as they are up and dry.

Jami, Lester, LE and Megan you all rock! Love seeing you get the feathers into a warm spot. It is so cold in Mattawan, Michigan . . . Daytime 20* and tonight they are forecasting -1* plus we got 10” - 12” of snow Tues and Wed. Wed morning the snow was at least 5” deep on the porch and it was hard to get the door open, lol. My Bella wouldn’t go off the porch to pee. Stay safe and warm, Thank you for loving our babies and keeping them warm. Jami I agree the chickens aren't coop people Now but could be taught. Build them a coop on that old concrete foundation and lock them in...I know horrible thought...for at least two weeks until they learn it's their home. That foundation would be a easy clean up and coops offer warmth when needed. PLUS this would keep Lester off ladders. 😉❤😂
