2:05 He modulates. The 8th note in the original tempo turns into the 8th note triplet of the new tempo. And then modulates back the other way! What a freak.

Killer signature. Being able to switch between the strict 3 and strict 5, being able to switch between the strict 5 and the 5 clave, between the 3 and a weird asymmetric shuffle... treating it like a 4/4 minus one 16th note, whatever! A really fun signature, multidimensional but still groovy.

Beautiful color oranges kit. I believe if you get a kit and you get a color other then it just happens to be your favorite color, you should base it on how it will look on stage under the stage lighting. I had a white marine pearl kit that reflected the lights really well and looked amazaballs under the lights which is why I don't like dark or black kits. Doesn't show up well under stage light. My ultimate favorite is bonhams green sparkle ludwigs. Just shine and I love green.

It actually feels like he's playing the music of that song, not just the rhythm of it but actually making it sing like the tune - and with its own spin and context, like when you're just humming (or belting) whatever melody has caught your ear. Musical stuff like that that pours out of Nate makes all of his crazy time manipulation he can do (with that wildly high-resolution sense of rhythm he has) feel like it's always going somewhere satisfying It's honestly like you can trust him with any amount of high-level concepts and chops because you know he's always "singing" and it's gonna stick the landing, just like a good song
